Norwalk, OH – Summit Motorsports Park is quickly becoming a second home to Todd Robertson and his Pro Power Motorsports team. Robertson, of Harrison Twp, Michigan, has qualified number one three times this season and  has won two of four events during the track’s Friday Night Chaos Series DOOR WARS, including a number one and a win from this past weekend’s event.

This past race was very special to Todd and his Pro Power team, not only because of their performance, but for the performance of Tony Raffin. Raffin, of St. Clair Shores Michigan, campaigns a nitrous assisted 70’ Cuda prepared by Pro Power Motorsports.

“Tony’s not a team car of ours, he’s more of a “house car”, said Pro Power Motorsports’ Todd Robertson. “Raffin’s “day job” as proprietor of three Re/Max realty outlets keeps him very busy. So, we take care of his car for him. We took care of the plumbing on the car and keep her race ready for Tony on a weekly basis. So any success Tony has gives me a “Proud Papa” moment”, laughed Robertson.

If Raffin’s success gives Robertson a “Proud Papa” moment; then Robertson was strutting like a peacock Friday night as both he and Raffin made their way to the finals.

Robertson’s supercharger Chevy Cobalt ran Low E.T. & Top Speed of the meet in qualifying posting a 4.075 @ 183.59 earning the Number One Qualifier & Top Speed bonuses, awarded by Malcuit Construction. Raffin placed his Bulldawg Liqueur backed Cuda in the 6th spot. By virtue of their qualifying positions Raffin and Robertson ended up on opposite sides of the eliminations ladder making the final round the only time the two could square off. As if they were following a Hollywood script the unlikely pairing occured.

In the final, Robertson held lane choice over Raffin because of Robertson’s quicker elapsed time in his semi final win over Mark Malcuit, sponsor of the Malcuit Construction Number One Qualifier and Top Speed Awards. When the two from the “The Wolverine State” left the starting line it was all Robertson as he kept his string of 4.0 runs intact taking the win over a traction plagued Raffin.

“This was a great night for Pro Power Motorsports”, exclaimed Robertson. “I couldn’t have asked for a better night. Rocco (Wilson) and Dennis (Kolomyjec) did a fantastic job! This car ran like a bracket car all night thanks to them, but I really need to take this time to recognize Kara Kolomyjec and her contribution to our team. Kara has been coming racing with us since she was like four, she’s in her early twenties now, and today she really stepped up and took on some extra duties. We were down a crew member and she really stepped up for us. She’s our ace in the hole.”

“The win was just fantastic,” continued Robertson. “Add the fact that we ran Tony in the finals and I couldn’t ask for a better night of racing for my entire Pro Power team.”

Next up for Robertson and his Pro Power Motorsports Team will be trip to Milan Dragway on September 3rd for another Aeroquip Performance Parts Heads Up event. Robertson leads the series points in the Napa Auto Parts Run What Ya Brung Class.
