TNT Super Series Hosts First Ever GUARANTEED TO WIN Drag Race At Empire’s IHRA Pro-Am This Saturday Night

Lose first round and get into the next TNTSS race for FREE – thanks to Roy and Tara Lister!

LEICESTER, NY – The first ever GUARANTEED TO WIN event in the Joe’s Transmission TNT Super Series is this Roy Lister - photo Bryan EppsSaturday August 22nd presented by Roy and Tara Lister. It will take place after Saturday’s main event during the IHRA Summit Pro-Am at Empire Dragway in Leicester, New York.

The concept is simple – Not only is the event winner guaranteed $1000, everyone who loses first round will get entry into the next TNTSS race for FREE.

PLUS racers will see the usual round money and specialty awards the TNTSS hands out at all its events. All of this for only $60 to enter ($75 for non-points members – REDUCED FROM $100 for this race only).

“The idea is a concept you just don’t see in sportsman drag racing,” said Ted Barnes. “The TNTSS has long been known for its history of giving back to the racers. We want to do something unique at this race and with help from Roy and Tara Lister, we are able to do just that.”

Roy and Tara Lister have long been involved in motorsports competition. Roy was involved in sand dragging back in the 1970’s and then back into it 30 years later with the TNTSS. Roy would normally be seen in both TNTSS and IHRA Division 3 competition but had his entire racing operation stolen last year. He got most of it back but has spent most of this season putting things back together.

“The TNT Super Series is the best series around,” said Roy. “We are proud to be a part of it. Nine years and the series has produced some of the best, most talented sportsman drivers in the country. And being involved with IHRA and Empire Dragway for the Pro-Am weekend is a terrific opportunity.”

This is RACE 8 of 10 in the chase for the 2015 Joe’s Transmission TNT Super Series points championship. Paul Young still holds the lead while the team of JJ Jablonski and Jason Vitez sits in second place – All three of them are past TNTSS series champions. Third place is Chris VanBaalen with Sam LoVetro Jr and David Surmatchewski rounding out the top five.

There are two other battles taking shape – The Performance Improvements DRIVER OF THE YEAR, lubricated by Royal Purple has David Surmatchewski in the lead but in a dog fight with Ryan Boniferro and Sam LoVetro Jr for top spot with the best average winning package so far this year at .032.

The Tim Thorne ROOKIE OF THE YEAR presented by Rosehill Auction House sees Alex Lepp from Wainfleet, Ontario out in front with 384 points.

Making this weekend even better – It is a qualifier for the REVS Full Throttle RACE OF CHAMPIONS coming up on September 19th where all past TNTSS event winners race off for the $1600 purse with NO ENTRY FEE.
