The Official Super Chevy Show Returns to Maryland International Raceway August 20-21

Mechanicsville, MD – The world’s largest manufacturer show is celebrating 30 years at Maryland International Super ChevyRaceway (MDIR) and it is less than five months away. This year’s original Super Chevy Show returns with the history and prestige of TEN: The Enthusiast Network with full coverage from Super Chevy Magazine. The August 20 – 21, 2016 event brings together Chevy enthusiasts from around the country to celebrate their favorite manufacturer.

“We can’t wait for the Super Chevy Show to come back to Maryland International Raceway.  It is the premiere national event for all Chevrolet enthusiasts,” said Rick Lindner, Director of Marketing and Public Relations of Maryland International Raceway.  “The support for this show is overwhelming across the country and I guarantee the family-friendly event offers something for everyone. Mark your calendars now for extraordinary drag racing, car show, swap meet and Pro Shows all Super Chevy style,” Lindner continued.

The festivities crank up at 9 a.m. on Friday, August 19 as the three-day car show starts with a “Show & Shine Festival of Cars”, with specialty awards on Saturday. The midway featuring the best in new Chevy aftermarket performance parts and a gigantic swap meet for those hard-to-find restoration treasures will be open all weekend.  Drag racing action is continuous and kicks off on Friday at 6 p.m. with Test & Tune racing action.

On Saturday, the event hits high gear with a full swap meet, cars galore and racing at its finest.  Chevy sportsman eliminations will begin on Saturday at 4:00 PM with a special treat of MDIR’s traditional Jet Wars show with Jet Dragsters and Jet Funny Cars making their first appearance of the weekend at 6 and 9 p.m.  Featured participants in the Jet Wars program include; Al Hanna’s Queen of Diamonds II jet dragster, GOJO First Strike Firebird and Top Secret jet funny cars, Robert Albertson’s Blazing Angel jet dragster, and Ernie Bogue’s Beast from the East and Bob Vansciver’s Jersey Thunder jet dragsters.

The Super Chevy Show wraps up on Sunday with big money bracket racing, Jet Wars final round, Car & Truck show awards and much more. Sunday’s car show activities conclude with the coveted class awards.

Tickets are available at the gate or in advance at www.RaceMDIR.com.  Spectator pricing for adults is $10 – Friday only, $20– Saturday or Sunday only. Spectator pricing for juniors 12-15 years of age is $10 per day, kids 6-11 is $5, and children 5 and under are FREE.
