THE ALL-AMERICAN HOT ROD SHOWDOWN COMES TO GATEWAY MOTORSPORTS PARK

MADISON, IL – Gateway Motorsports Park in Madison, Ill., will host the annual All-American Hot Rod Showdown and the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series this weekend, Oct. 20-22.  The event features Top Alcohol Dragsters and Top Alcohol Funny Cars, reaching speeds of more than 275 miles per hour on the quarter-mile drag strip.

Gates at Gateway Motorsports Park open at 9 a.m. every day. Qualifying and time trials begin Friday at 9 a.m. and continue Saturday at 9 a.m. Eliminations will begin Saturday afternoon and continue on Sunday for Super Street, Stock, Super Gas, Super Stock, Super Comp, Top Dragster, Comp Eliminator, and Top Sportsman.

Top Dragster, Top Sportsman and Comp Eliminator qualify Friday at noon and 4 p.m. with final qualifying Saturday at 10 a.m. Top Alcohol Dragster and Top Alcohol Funny Car qualify on Friday at 7 p.m. and on Saturday at noon and 4 p.m. Round one will begin on Sunday at 11 a.m.

Spectator admission for the All-American Hot Rod Showdown event is $20 per carload Friday, Saturday and Sunday.  Gateway Motorsports Park is located five minutes from downtown St. Louis at the intersection of Interstates 55/70 and Ill.
