Ted Glinny captures his second PBSS win at Canadian Nitro Nationals
CAYUGA, ON – Winning the latest round in the Pro Bike & Sled Series over the weekend was Pro Bike rider Ted Glinny.
The PBSS, presented by Wiseco Performance Products, took part in the Canadian Nitro Nationals held at TMP’s Cayuga Dragway. It was the fourth race on the 2013 PBSS schedule.
For Glinny, of Milton, Ontario, and 2013 PBSS champion, the win was his second for the season.
Riding his 1400-cc Kawasaki, Glinny qualified fourth in the field, and eliminated number one qualifier and Suzuki Pro Bike rider Dan Cryderman of Thamesville, Ontario in the final round. Glinny posted an 8.578-second, 144.67-mph pass over Cryderman’s 8.033, 155.73. The PBSS races within drag racing’s Sportsman-class rules on a dial-in basis with handicaps.
Glinny defeated Pro Sled racer Jessica Tourloukis of Innsfil, Ontario on her Arctic Cat in the first round and recent PBSS event winner, Pro Bike rider Dave Vandereyken of Acton, Ontario in round two. In the semi-final Glinny bested former PBSS champion and Pro Bike rider Randy Hope of London, Ontario.
Cryderman eliminated Greg Legge of Kitchener and his Pro Bike entry in round one, and then Pro Sled rider Curtis Shultz of Harley, Ontario in the next round. In the semi-final, Pro Sled rider Bill Anderson of Seaforth, Ontario was eliminated by Cryderman.
At present, Cryderman leads the Championship Point Award Series, followed by Glinny and Vandereyken. Marty Kuiack of Milton, Ontario is fourth, and John Orfanidis of Toronto, Ontario is fifth.
Cryderman has one win to his credit so far this season, the Victoria Day Weekend Challenge, and Glinny has two, winning this most recent event and the season opener at Martin, Michigan. Vandereyken won the delayed South Coast Community race which was completed during the Nitro Nationals.
