South Coast Community Weekend next event for three drag race series

CAYUGA, ON – The next race in the Pro Modified Racing Association, the Quick 32 Sportsman Series presented by NAPA  Auto Parts, and the Pro Bike & Sled Series presented by Wiseco Performance Products will be the half-way mark for the three drag racing series this season.

To be held at the Cayuga Dragway of Toronto Motorsports Park in Cayuga, Ontario August 3-5, The South Coast Community Weekend will be the fourth race on the 2012 PMRA schedule, and the third for the Quick 32 Sportsman Series and the PBSS.

The points race in each series is close as teams get prepared for racing on the Cayuga quarter-mile next weekend.

The PMRA is in its eighth year of racing, the Quick 32 Sportsman Series is in its fourth season, and 2012 is the second year for the PBSS.

At present, Bruce Boland of Hamilton, Ontario leads the Pro Modified Racing Association Championship Point Award Series with 1074 points, followed by Eric Latino of Whitby, Ontario in second with 1049 points and Jeff Roth of New Dundee, Ontario third with 1033 points.

Leading in the Quick 32 Sportsman Series presented by NAPA Auto Parts Championship Point Award Series Standings is the Orangeville, Ontario Hinbest Racing team of Michael Hinbest and Katie Ward with their Top Dragster and 698 points. The Top Sportsman entry of Spencer Hyde of Stratford, Ontario is second with 658 points, and Mike Everitt of Stratford is third with 645 points with his Top Dragster.

John Orfanidis of Toronto, Ontario has an even 600 points with his Pro Bike entry to lead the Pro Bike & Sled Series Championship Point Award Series Standings going into the Cayuga event, followed by Chris Bondi of Aurora, Ontario with his Pro Sled in second with 596 points, while another Pro Sled rider, Jeff Lippert of Amherstburg, Ontario is third in the PBSS with 586 points.

The PMRA, the Quick 32 Sportsman Series, and the PBSS are companion series which compete during the same events throughout the season at drag strips in Canada and the United States, providing fans with an exciting and diverse package of drag racing action.

Complimentary spectator event tickets are available at businesses in Cayuga and the surrounding areas, or by contacting the Quick 32 Sportsman Series, the Pro Modified Racing Association or the Pro Bike & Sled Series.

General parking is $20 per car load and weekend camping is available.
