Smith and Hirata provide quality entertainment while racing is halted

Lowell, IN – The dynamic duo that make up the Smith/Hirata Motorsports Team haven’t let a global crisis and complete shutdown of their industry dampen their spirits or slow their efforts. They’ve simply switched gears and focused their creative energies on entertaining fans and enthusiasts worldwide.

Their hilarious and informative videos have spread quickly over social media, bringing a little light to the industry while everything remains in a holding pattern. From turning NGK spark plugs into face masks to utilizing their famed #mulletmafia hairstyles to promote Lucas Oil products, their videos and posts on https://www.facebook.com/willsmithmotorsports/ and https://www.facebook.com/hiratamotorsports/ provide a break from otherwise increasingly negative media.

“Dave [Hirata] and I love to cut up together,” Smith elaborated. “It’s in our personalities. We have game faces, of course, but there’s always an element of fun to what we do. We recognize this as a strength to engage our audience and promote our marketing partners. Plus, we all need a little extra laugh during times like these. It’s what’s going to help us get through until we’re back on the track again.”

And when Smith is back on track in the Hirata Motorsports Top Alcohol Dragster, he’ll have the opportunity to run the prestigious JEGS Allstars event. The field was announced last week with Smith placing second in JEGS Allstars points for the North Central Region.

“It was one of our goals to make JEGS Allstars,” Smith continued, “so we’re pretty ecstatic about reaching that goal. This team really deserves it. I’m happy for them and proud to be a part of this crew.”

JEGS Allstars will be contested at the Route 66 NHRA Nationals, which was originally scheduled for May 30-June 2, but will now be held July 9-12.

“We are hyped for Route 66. It’s our home stop on the tour, Allstars will be run that weekend and John Blumenthal, our Industrial Shelving and Equipment (ISE) partner, will be with us. As a special incentive leading up to that event and to help ease burdens during these difficult times, ISE is offering 10% off an entire order. That’s a bold move during times when things are tough for a lot of people. It speaks volumes about John and his company. We’re really proud to have them on board the Smith/Hirata team.”

Customers can use code ISEHMS20 for 10% off an order at www.indshelvingeqp.com or by calling (815) 939-3900. The discount includes materials and shipping, excludes sales tax. It can be used by new customers on their first order of pallet racks or accessories. The code is good through Dec. 31, 2020.

“We’re so ready to get back on track. But in the meantime, we’re doing what we can to bring some good news into the world. Hope everyone stays healthy and well and comes out to see us once this is all over! Until then, we’ll keep things interesting on social media.”
