Record breaking weekend for 2015 Diesels on the Mountain
Diesels on the Mountain presented by BD Diesel Performance turned out to be a record breaking weekend for the
NHRDA. It started at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds on Friday night where the crowd enjoyed some great NHRDA sled pulling action. The weather delay didn’t dampen the crowd’s enthusiasm for the sled pull. On Saturday the action moved to Bandimere Speedway where the MBRP Diesel Drag Racing Series put on a great show.
The fans and racers saw records fall by the way side as Derek Rose made his first appearance and he made sure every body knew his name as he laid down a record breaking pass of 9.41 to open qualifying. Former National Record Holder Rob Coddens was not to be out done has laid down a 9.47 second pass in eliminations and then back it up with 9.36 in a later round. When the dust finally settled it was Rob Coddens walking away from the track with the new Super Street ET and MPH record and the win.
In Pro Street Jarid Vollmer set a new MPH record with his Bully Dog Dodge at 160.52 mph. Pro Stock saw Brain Spooner take the win with his blown diesel setup. Other winners included Matt Kubik in Pro Street, Phillip Frankin in 10.90 Index, Kevin Larson in Super Diesel and Arik Frost in Sportsman. If you missed any of the action makes sure to check out Diesel TV for complete video coverage of the event.
The NHRDA MBRP Diesel Drag Racing Series and NHRDA Diesel Sled Pulling Series moves on to St. Louis for the next event at Gateway Motorsports Park for the Mid-West Truckin’ Nationals on June 27th.
