Quick 32 Sportsman Series returns to action during Canadian Nitro Nationals

CAYUGA, ON – Racing in the popular Quick 32 Sportsman Series returns this weekend at the fourth annual Canadian Nitro Nationals to be held on the Cayuga Dragway of Toronto Motorsports Park.

This will be the fourth race for the series, which is presented by NAPA Auto Parts, and will take place July 12-14.
The final round in the previous race, which was postponed, will also take place at Cayuga, and features the finalist from the Top Dragster side of the Quick 32 Sportsman Series, Lance Orr of Shawville, Quebec, versus the Top Sportsman finalist, Rob Gray of Ingersoll. The series is comprised of 16 cars from each side, and the final Top Dragster entry is pitted against the Top Sportsman entry to determine the event winner.

This postponed round will be part of the Canadian Nitro Nationals along with a full qualifying and elimination session of the next Quick 32 Sportsman Series race. Presently leading the Championship Point Award Series is Top Sportsman driver Spencer Hyde with his Chevy Camaro while two-time winner Kevin Wicke is next with his Dodge Stratus. Both drivers are from Stratford, Ontario.

Next is Gray in the Wilson & Gray Top Sportsman Chevy Cavalier, and two Top Dragster drivers are next, both winners of Quick 32 Sportsman Series events in 2013. Sam Christian of Amherst, New York, winner of the Martin, Michigan round, is fourth, and Bill White of Gadshill, Ontario who won the Victoria Day Weekend Challenge event at Cayuga, rounds out the top five.

The Quick 32 Sportsman Series www.Quick32.ca will compete at all these events in conjunction with its companion series, the Pro Modified Racing Association, www.PMRA.ca, and the Pro Bike & Sled Series www.PBSS.ca, providing an exciting, colorful, and complete show of the best in drag racing action.

Qualifying rounds for all three series will take place on Friday and Saturday, July 12-13, with eliminations scheduled to take place July 14.

Along with these three drag racing series, the Canadian Nitro Nationals will feature nitromethane-burning Top Fuel Dragsters and Nitro Funny Cars, Nitro Nostalgia Funny Cars, the NDRA Alcohol Funny Car Series, the NDRA Pro Doorslammer Series, the Outlaw 10.5 Association, racing in the Can-Am Stock/Super Stock Series, Jet Dragsters and Shockwave, a Peterbilt semi-truck powered by three jet engines.
