Pomona success leaves Arana satisfied for his next journey

POMONA, CA – ProtectTheHarvest.com Pro Stock Motorcycle rider Adam Arana rode brilliantly during the Auto Club NHRA Finals on Sunday Adam Aranaat Auto Club Raceway in what is his last race before joining the United States Coast Guard.

With an almost perfect light, .004, against Jerry Savoie in round one of eliminations, Arana advanced with a 6.889-second pass at 195.51 mph compared to Savoie’s 6.853 at 194.80.

Meeting Eddie Krawiec for the fifth time in the second round this season, Arana left the line with a .020-second reaction time compared to the Harley rider’s .058 light. Unfortunately, Arana’s slight lead wasn’t enough to hold off Krawiec at the line by just a fraction.

“I didn’t do too bad on the Christmas Tree; I had a .004 and a .020,” Arana said. “The second round, if I would’ve raced anyone but Eddie I would’ve won, and that stinks. It’s hard to race those Harleys; they’re fast.

“I left on a good note,” Arana said. “I just got outran, so I have nothing to be upset about.”

With the 2014 season completed, Arana now turns his focus to his next endeavor, the United States Coast Guard. Despite knowing this was his last full-time race, Arana doesn’t think the emotions will catch up to him until the start of next year.

“It’s not going to hit me until I’m actually in boot camp,” Arana said. “This is always the last race, so it’s not an issue for me now. It won’t hit me until everyone else is racing and I’m not.”

With two full seasons under his belt, Arana knows he accomplished more than the record books will portray. Continually honing his riding skills, the youngest Arana is confident in the reputation he has created.

“I rode a lot better this year than I did last year,” Arana said. “My record is better than it was last year, but unfortunately we didn’t have quite the performance we had last year. It’s a little bit frustrating because I know I’m riding better.”
