PMRA/Quick 32 Sportsman Series set schedule for 2011

CAYUGA, ONTARIO – The Pro Modified Racing Association, www.PMRA.ca, and the Quick 32 Sportsman Series presented by NAPA Auto Parts, www.Quick32.ca,is pleased to announce the 2011 racing schedule for both of these popular drag race series.

The PMRA will be entering its seventh year of competition, while the Quick 32 Sportsman Series will be starting its third season.

For 2011, the racing will consist of six events, and both the PMRA and Quick 32 Sportsman Series will compete together at all events.

The traditional season opener will take place on the Cayuga Dragway of Toronto Motorsports Park May 20-22 for the Victoria Day Weekend.

Both series will return to TMP’s Cayuga for another three-day event June 10-12, and then partake in one of the sport’s biggest venues of the season, the Canadian Nitro Nationals July 1-3 at Cayuga.

Then it’s on to the Grand Bend Motorplex for the popular Stratford Spectacular Hot August Nationals presented by Ideal Supply and NAPA Auto Parts August 5-7, the first of two stops at the Grand Bend Motorplex in 2011.

Another popular and traditional scene for the PMRA and Quick 32 Sportsman Series will be the Teamsters “Thunder by the Beach” Weekend September 2-4 over the Labor Day weekend at the Grand Bend Motorplex.

Both series will finish up the season with a return to Cayuga September 9-11.

“We’re pleased to have our dates all set,” noted Bruce Mehlenbacher, Director of Operations for both the PMRA and Quick 32 Sportsman Series. “Getting our schedule ready allows our racers, sponsors, and our fans a solid foundation for their plans for the upcoming season. We have a great group of racers, and we are happy to offer them a chance to race at these two drag strips.”

All races will follow the three-day setup, with test and tunes on the Friday of the event, qualifying on the Saturday, and eliminations on the Sunday.
