Peter Maduri Jr Wins 2019 TNT Super Series Championship

Second TNTSS championship for Maduri!

NIAGARA FALLS, ON – The wrap up for the 2019 Joe’s Transmission TNT Super Series came down to the final weekend – Championship weekend presented by Sam LoVetro Automotive – where every round mattered. When the dust settled, it was Peter Maduri Jr with his dad Pete Maduri Sr as co-driver, winning the 13th TNTSS title.

The Maduri team came into the weekend with a mere one point lead over second place, having just taken the lead the race before. In true championship form, Maduri Jr drops himself into the #1 qualifying position with a perfect 10.900 to get maximum points. If that wasn’t enough, he made it to the semi-finals that day which gave him a 32 point lead over Tyler Halleen. Young Halleen was on a mission of his own, winning Saturday and putting himself in serious contention for the championship going into Sunday.

On day two, rain was in the forecast. Halleen qualified 3rd and Maduri 7th, shrinking the points lead. When the skies opened up after round one and the event was cancelled, the title was clinched and the Maduri team were TNTSS champions.

This season, he had one TNTSS event win and was seen deep into eliminations more often than not. Couple that with a string of top 5 qualifying efforts and he was tough to beat. Maduri Jr also won the Jim Thomson RACE OF CHAMPIONS presented by Revs Full Throttle Powersports at Grand Bend in July.

“This is my 11th series championship as a driver, second one in TNTSS, the first one came in 2010,” said Maduri Jr.

Maduri Motorsports is sponsored by Dynabrade Industrial Power Tools – the worldwide leader in abrasive power tool technology.  Maduri Jr is the Corporate Trainer for the company.  They sell to 93 countries with the only manufacturing facility in the world being just outside of Buffalo, New York, so it is truly a USA made product.  “It was great to put the Dynabrade Race Team – Maduri Motorsports in first place in probably the toughest sportsman series in the Northeast,” he added.

Maduri Jr drove a combination of the Dynabrade S-10 Truck and the Dynabrade Monza this season in the series.  The truck is powered by a 582” Jan-Cen BBC and can hit the 10.90 index at 151 mph.  The Monza, powered by a 540” Jan-Cen BBC is also capable of hitting the 10.90 index at over 150 MPH.

“I want to thank my dad for all of his support over the years.  He completely rebuilt the Monza this past off season and it certainly repeats!  It was an honor to be able to team up with the guy who got me started in the sport and take home the TNT Super Series Championship!” said Maduri.

“I want to thank my fiancé, Jennifer, for all her support.  She is fairly new to the racing scene, but has been behind me 100% from the start.  It has already been announced that you will see her in a dragster next year.”

Maduri Jr was quick to thank his mother and sister for all their support and putting up with his racing habit.  “Thanks to Robert Bauer III and the Bauer family for all their continued support and help along the way.  Also, special thanks to Jim Stoneman, Jamie Stoneman and Jeff Gregorie for their support!  Also, Jason Vitez, Joe Lilienthal, Mike Swinarski, Don Raiser, Billy Leber, Bobby Vitagliano (Fred’s Collision), Mike Kalin and the team at Aeromotive Fuel Systems for all their help and support!”

“Finally, and most importantly, thank you Joe Boniferro and Ted Barnes for putting this series together,” Maduri continued. “It is truly a wonderful series and the competition is extremely tough!  In addition to that, Joe builds the best transmission in the area.  All of our cars are equipped with a Joe’s Transmissions piece and work flawlessly!  Thanks to Charlene Lepp and Laurie Orr for all their hard work as well!”

The Maduri boys will be honored at the upcoming TNTSS Awards Night on Saturday November 16 2019 at Johnny Rocco’s in Niagara Falls, Canada. The series will give away over $15000 in cash & prizes that night. Stay tuned to www.tntsuperseries.com or www.facebook.com/TNTSuperSeries for updates.
