SEAFORTH, ON – Bill Anderson is returning to the Pro Bike & Sled Series for 2012, but the Pro Sled rider said his Arctic Cat will not receive any major changes.
“We’re going to give it another go this year,” said Anderson, “and basically run it the way it was last season.”
Anderson placed third in points in the six-race PBSS 2011 Championship Point Award Series presented by Wiseco Performance Products, and his year was highlighted with an event win is the season opener at Cayuga.
Racing for Team Fun, Anderson’s sled is a 2009 Arctic Cat Z1 Turbo, with a stock turbocharged 1056-cc twin cylinder unit that sits in an Arctic Cat Twin Spar chassis. The power is fed through an Arctic Cat continuously variable transmission (CVT) and fueled by a stock 46-mm throttle body EFI with Boondocker Z1 Hijacker Control.
The sled is capable of quarter-mile postings in the low nine-second range at speeds in the mid 140s. Anderson said he’d like to make some eight-second runs in 2012.
“We’re going to try a few little things,” noted Anderson, who has raced since the early 1980s. “I’d like to make some 8.90s,” adding that the engine has reached its maximum potential without major performance equipment. He also added he is going to work on more consistency with his racing this season.
Crew chief for the team is Frank Brugger, and Harold Chesney and Craig Millar also help out with the effort.
Sponsorship for the team is provided by B&K Tire and Battery, D&D Racing, Howard’s Inc., McClure Creations and Blyth Printing.
His first PBSS appearance will take place at the season opener, the Victoria Day Weekend Challenge May 18-20 at the Cayuga Dragway of Toronto Motorsports Park.
The Pro Bike & Sled Series, www.PBSS.ca will race six times in 2012. The series also competes with its two companion series, the Pro Modified Racing Association, www.PMRA.ca and the Quick 32 Sportsman Series, www.Quick32.ca offering a solid and full package of drag racing action.
