NMCA World Street Finals Featuring the LSX Shootout Rocks Indy in 2012

Indianapolis, IN – The NMCA Flowmaster Muscle Car Nationals, the #1 all-domestic muscle car show, rocked the Indianapolis area last 
weekend and featured the 6th Annual Chevrolet Performance LSX Shootout, the largest gathering of LS muscle cars in the U.S. The 11th Annual FueLab NMCA World Street Finals at Lucas Oil Raceway in Indianapolis the weekend of Oct. 14-17, 2012, saw HUGE fan attendance and HUGE racer (over 500 cars) and car show participation as the NMCA series combined with the LSX community. Also featured at this event was a large manufacturers’ midway, swap meet and burnout contest.
All the cars and all the stars of NMCA were in attendance along with new faces in most classes. NMCA racers had their combinations set on kill at the last race of the year where world championships were on the line. NMCA fans came to see all the wild heads-up and wheels-up classes and they weren’t disappointed! Supercharged, nitrous assisted, turbocharged, and naturally aspirated…this NMCA event had it all.
The muscle car movement is in full swing with classic muscle and modern muscle creating a great show for NMCA fans! In Kooks Custom Headers Pro Street, Chris Rini, pictured above, was once again the man to beat for the world championship. ARP Nostalgia Pro Street racer Donnie Rayburn, also pictured above, found out just how hard Indy can hook as he took his Gremlin skyward and actually go all 4 wheels of the ground! NMCA once again offered NHRA Unleashed Wallys to all class winners courtesy of Aerospace Components.
The Chevrolet Performance LSX Shootout, presented by GM High-Tech Performance, featured the fastest LS race cars in the U.S. battling on the 1/4 mile for major bragging rights. This special event featured the best in modern GM performance…5th gen Camaros & 4th gen Camaros, Firebirds & Trans-Ams, Corvettes, GTOs, G8s, Cadillacs, trucks and SUVs all showcasing awesome LS power! The party began on Thursday evening with a special LSX Shootout Racers Appreciation event at the host hotel with over 350 people in attendance.
Major media support attended the LSX Shootout to witness awesome LS performance firsthand. In attendance were GM High-Tech Performance, FSC, Camaro Performers, LSXTV.com, LS1tech.com, Camaro5.com, and PlanetLSX.com. TREMEC NMCA/LSX True Street had over 100 cars that did a 30 mile cruise around Indy before making their passes down the 1/4 mile!
This DuPont Custom Finishes NMCA Car Show Series event showcased some of the finest hot rods and muscle cars in the U.S. with participants traveling from all over the U.S. in attendance. It was the LSX cars, however, that once again stole the show with over 75 LS-powered Camaros, Firebirds, GTOs, G8s, Cadillacs, Corvettes and trucks showing off for NMCA’s fans! NMCA once again provided an awesome awards pavilion for the car show participants to hang out and receive their awards!
NMCA participants and fans have come to expect a strong manufacturers midway at all events and this event did not disappoint. Great companies were on hand including Chevrolet Performance, Scoggin Dickey Parts Center, FueLab, DuPont Custom Finishes, TREMEC, QA1, Quick Fuel Technology, Holley, SAM, MSD Ignition, Racepak Data, GM High-Tech Performance and Camaro Performers Magazines, ERL Performance, Mickey Thompson, Harland Sharp, ACT and many more! Racers and fans could find the parts, collectibles and apparel they desired.
