NHRA Hardware ready to be awarded at this Weekend’s Vinyl Window Design Southern Ontario Nationals

Racers in six classes will have an opportunity to take home a NHRA Wally on Saturday!

CAYUGA, ON – The second event stop in the Five event DSE Automotive Sportsman Racing Series will take place DSE Sportsman Seriesthis weekend at Legendary Cayuga Dragway, which will also feature the NHRA Summit Racing Equipment “King of the Track” Wally Trophy run-off on Saturday June 20th.

Main event winners in Vinyl Window Designs Super Pro, Hill Racing/RPM Magazine Modified, DSEAutomotuve,ca Super Bike/Sled, Performance Improvements Street Eliminator, HeadsUpRacer.com Quick 16 presented by Lowdown Hot Rods and Dundas Valley Street Bike Eliminator will all have the opportunity to race in a special “total package run-off” for the Coveted NHRA Wally and a bonus $250 cash prize.

The run-off will consist of each racer making a single pass after they have won their class, the person during that single pass who produces the best total package (Reaction time plus dial in) will win the NHRA Wally. Redlights and break-outs will be enforced, meaning they will disqualify a racer from winning the run-off.

“This is really going to be an fun format change for us with the “King of the Track” race, and we are excited to now be able to include, four more classes in the event, where as in years gone by it was only open to Modified and Super Pro racers. With this configuration racers in Super Bike/Sled, Street Bike and Street Car can still use the same PRO tree they were used to running all day, and our Quick 16 racers only have to make one additional run versus three or more for a chance at the “Wally” ” Said series Director Andrew Stirk

Previous “King of the Track” Wally Champion, Claude Losier will be looking to regain his Crown at this weekend’s event.

Additionally ICD Insurance Brokers Ltd have stepped up to join the series this weekend. ICD will be the title sponsor of the “Round that Counts” which is the final time trial session that determines the first round bye-run’s in many of the classes, as well as the title sponsor of the Box/No Box Gambler race that takes place each day for those racers who are eliminated early in the Main event.

Gates will open at 9 am Saturday morning with time trials/qualifying commencing at 11 am and eliminations to follow around 1:30 pm Sunday gates open at 9 am with time trials/qualifying starting at 10 am and eliminations to follow around noon.
