NEW PRO STREET WORLD RECORDS

Lavon Miller Sets Both the NHRDA Pro Street World Records at the Oklahoma Diesel Nationals!

Lavon Miller of Plain City, Ohio swept into the Oklahoma Diesel Nationals knowing that his Firepunk Diesel ’06 Dodge had the chance at both the NHRDA Pro Street ET and MPH World Records. He and his team not only set new NHRDA Pro Street World Records but Miller ran an earth shaking 7.993 seconds at 174.75 mph!

Lavon and his team ran 7.993 seconds at 174.75 mph in qualifying but was unable to back that ET up in the final round. Though Miller was able to run an 8.121 second pass that was good enough to set the new NHRDA Pro Street ET World Record at the 8.121. His final round run was good enough to back up the 174.75 mph making it the new NHRDA Pro Street MPH World Record.

But did he really think that a 7 second pass was even possible? “The weekend prior we ran a 5.27 and 5.28 in the 1/8th and we knew we had the horsepower on tap to run a strong back half but weren’t sure if it was enough to hit 7’s,” said the Firepunk Diesel owner after the run.

Being the first Pro Street driver in the 7’s shows the dedication of Lavon and his team. “It has been a goal of ours since we built the truck to get a 4×4 into the 7’s and to be able to be the first Pro Street truck to the 7’s is an honor!” Miller said.

When asked if he thinks he has anymore ET in the truck he answers, “Yes, we are still 430lbs over the Pro Street minimum weight of 4500lbs so we are hoping to ditch the stock AAM axles under the truck for a set of fab 9″ axles to get to minimum weights. That will help us better our 60′ and free up weight which should pickup a few tenths, but at this level, a few tenths is hard to come by.”

“I want to thank the entire Firepunk Team, D&J Precision Machine for providing a reliable engine, Exergy Performance for an incredible fuel system and Bosch ECU setup, Diesel Performance Converters, Aeromotive, Engineered Inc, Vibrant, Amsoil, Columbus Diesel, Woolf, TBM Brakes, Yukon, Turn14, Fluidampr and Associated Graphics for the wrap!” Lavon said after claiming both ends of the NHRDA Pro Street World Records.
