New power on tap for John Orfanidis PBSS Team
Quality Automotive Suzuki Pro Bike ready for the season to get underway at the Grand Bend Motorplex
TORONTO, ON – With new power in his Pro Bike Suzuki, Pro Bike & Sled competitor John Orfanidis is hoping to get down the track quicker this year.
Always a strong qualifier, Orfanidis, from Toronto, ran the entire PBSS schedule in 2014 and plans to do so in 2015. Off-season, he made a 7.28-second pass and qualified sixth of 22 in the pro-open Class at the prestigious Man (Manufacturers) Cup at South Georgia Motorsports Park, and hopes to better this effort with a new engine for the Suzuki.
Sitting in a 1999 Suzuki GSX-R with a Tracs chassis, the Vance & Hines 1755-cc naturally aspirated engine is fueled by Lectron carburetors and would run in the mid-seven second range at speeds approaching 180 mph in regular PBSS competition.
Orfanidis has been in the sport since the early 1980s and has been a strong contender during his seasons with the PBSS.
Mike Henriques will continue as crew chief with the Quality Automotive team, with Jonathan Orfanidis, Peter Cifuentes, Alex Saragosa and Fedon Orfanidis as the rest of the crew.
Sponsorship is provided by Quality Automotive, Converter Man Ltd. and Diamond Trans.
The PBSS, www.PBSS.ca now in its fifth year of operation, competes with the Quick 32 Sportsman Series, www.Quick32.ca providing an exciting and colorful package of drag racing action.
