BUDDS CREEK, MD – The Season opener at Maryland International Raceway was UNBELIEVABLE with many Pro Mods first time out this year running in the 5.9s and 6.0 range. On April 20th and 21st  the Northeast Outlaw Pro Mods engines were bellowing their fire fueled by high octane fuel, nitrous oxide and alcohol creating 3000 plus horsepower driving the battle of the Warrior Spartans into a racing rage of excitement. The battle ground was Maryland International Raceway where we began the season of racing with nitrous, blower and turbo cars … 8 cars of the 22 running in the low

6.0 range or faster. The racing battle was called off after 3 great qualifying passes and two exciting rounds of door to door 6.04 racing due to rain.

The WAR continues on May 11th and 12th at MIR. This time we will run our normal format with Blowers and Turbo’s running a separate field from Nitrous. The two 8 car fields will include some of the fan favorite warriors like Tim O’Hare, Jim Bersani, Steve Drummond, Tommy Gray, Larry Higgenbottham, Dwayne Wolfe and many others on the Blower / Turbo side. On the Nitrous side the vendetta continues between Matt Deitsch, Fred Scriba  and George Williams , Isaias Rojas,… all going 6.0s and faster. Todd Fontana and Vinny DeMieri plan to return and show the guys that their consistent passes will make them extremely competitive.

The Spartan Warriors are ready for battle with about 24 or more bringing their racing chariots to one of the Fastest, Smoothest track on the east coast …MARYLAND INTERNATIONAL RACEWAY.

The action begins on Friday May 11, 2012 with a daytime test & tune (9 AM to 5 PM). At night the positioning starts with two qualifying rounds (7 and 9 PM). Saturday the driver warriors will make their adjustments , fine tune their war machines and get ready for two more daytime qualifiers ( 2 and 5 PM ). Once the field is set then the get ready for REAL ACTION …no holds barred kick butt, down and dirty all-out battle.

The BATTLE is set for Saturday evening May 12 , 2012 at 7 PM. Be sure to bring your ear plugs and get ready for long , Smokey burn outs , ear bursting blower blasts and eye dazzling supper speeds. Don’t forget to bring your friends and family.

Matt Deitsch (2011 Nitrous points Champion) and his son are anxious to stage next to Fred Scriba Team (2010 Points Champion). Matt in his normal in your face style/manner “says that he is looking forward to putting them on their trailer. Fred is his low key style simply says” we have more than enough power and knowledge to whip their butt “.

Isaias Rojas is looking forward to taking on all comers and said “last race the competition got lucky because I got bad tires shake…it won’t happen again “. Two weeks ago Isaias was dominating the Nitrous field with a 6.00 and was looking to put the car in the 5.95 range but got tire shake and had to abort the run.

Gentleman Tim O’Hare said that “his 5.96 pass was just tickling the car and expects to easily crush the blower and Turbo’s”. While Steve Drummond consistent 6.04 passes at 245 MPH said that “they expect to be in the low 5.90 range easily and often more than enough to take on blower cars.”

Many other drivers had a lot of TRASH talk …some of it we cannot put in print. One thing for sure , IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR FUN, GREAT FAST PRO MOD RACING YOU HAVE GOT TO COME TO WATCH THE BATTLE AT MIR ON MAY 11th AND 12th. YOU WILL LOVE IT.
