Englishtown, NJ – North East Timing Organization (N.E.T.O.) Comp racer Joe Morrison, is headed to Old Bridge Township Raceway Park, with intentions of extending an impressive streak of three-consecutive race victories at the
Nostalgia Summernationals & Funny Car Reunion to be contested this Sunday, July 24th in Englishtown, NJ.
Morrison will not only be armed with his potent 1948’ Fiat Topolino Altered, but also a fresh batch of memorable ‘Legends of Nitro’ T-Shirts produced by Hot Rods by Stith; a new product line available from Morrison’s primary marketing partner Nostalgia Wear.
“We are thrilled and excited to offer the ‘Legends of Nitro’ product line to the die-hard Nostalgia racing fans of the north east and to debut this partnership at one of the biggest Nostalgia events of the 2011 season,” noted Morrison, a successful businessman from Flemington, NJ. “Nostalgia Wear recently contacted the team at Hot Rod’s by Stith about becoming a distributor of their products for the North East United States.
Racing primarily in a Nostalgia racing organization with a recognizable Nostalgia car is a perfect fit for this partnership. We plan to provide all the racers and fans with another great opportunity to proudly display their love of the ‘Legends of Nitro’.”
The 11th Annual Nostalgia Summernationals & Funny Car reunion, being held at Old Bridge Township Raceway Park, is an opportunity for fans of the Nostalgia scene to remember the cars and stars of a more simple time. Scheduled to appear at this event include NHRA Nitro Funny Car driver Jon Capps, driving Henry Gutierrez’ Jungle Jim Tribute Car, the return of ‘The Frantic Ford’ and several other Nitro and Alcohol burning Funny Cars. Also included is a classic car show, the Nostalgia Super Stock class, memorabilia and a chance to mingle with some of the ‘Legends of Nitro’.
“This event is flat out cool,” Morrison continued. “Each year the show gets bigger and better and every year we try our best to capture the race victory. We had an incredible weekend two-weeks ago by winning three races in one weekend. The car is running hot, straight and normal and the driver is feeling pretty confident. It should be a recipe for success on Sunday.”
Morrison is accustomed to working with high-profile organizations and turning his passion for awareness into positive campaigns. Last year, he joined NHRA series regular Fast Jack Beckman in a fund-raising drive for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. This season, Morrison has joined forces with the COPD Foundation, in attempt to raise awareness for the estimated 24 million adults who are living with this disease.
