MORE SPONSORS SIGN UP FOR 2015 BRITISH DRAG RACING HALL OF FAME GALA AWARDS DINNER

MQQNEYES, the International Organisation of Professional Drivers and Lucas Oil have already announced their BDRHOFSticker2012sponsorship of the British Drag Racing Hall of Fame Gala Awards Dinner being held at the Savill Court Hotel, Windsor Great Park on November 21st 2015. Two further 2014 sponsors have recently announced that they want to be involved again in 2015 – Californian born drag racer Julie Braskett and Britain’s premier supplier of parts for American vehicles U S Automotive. Now Phil Evans has just announced that his company Atlantic Fluid Tech will be co-sponsoring a special event – details to be announced shortly.

Along with his roles on the FIA Drag Racing Commission, the MSA, the BDRHoF and the Santa Pod Racers Club, Phil Evans is MD of Atlantic Fluid Tech Ltd, the Sales and Technical Support Centre in the UK and Ireland for Atlantic Fluid Tech products. The parent company, Atlantic Fluid Tech Srl, was created in Modena, Italy, in 2008 to design, manufacture and market a complete range of high quality hydraulic valves.

As well as the standard product range, Atlantic creates valves that are seen on leading brands of mobile equipment from construction equipment to utility vehicles, access platforms to farm machinery.

Atlantic has 91 employees in 4 sites – UK, Holland, France and Korea – plus dealers worldwide. They sell to over 300 customers in 30 countries, and annual worldwide sales now stand at over €10M. Atlantic Fluid Tech Ltd has recently moved into a new 4000 sq ft office and warehouse building at Henley Park Industrial Estate, Coventry.

Julie Braskett and US Automotive will be jointly sponsoring the evening Grand Autograph session to be held after the dinner where all of our American guest stars will join the new BDRHoF Inductees to sign the Souvenir Programme. Julie will act as host. She knows many of the guests personally and some of them raced with her late father Dave in the Braskett and Burgin Funny Car and other team machines. The photo shows Julie with Don Garlits at Santa Pod Raceway last year.

Julie said, “I really enjoyed hosting the Tea with Garlits event at Santa Pod last year and was thrilled to be offered hosting the Grand Autograph session this year alongside US Automotive”.

“I was brought up with many of these people being part of my drag racing family and to find myself hosting them at an autograph session in the UK is very special. I love what the BDRHoF is doing and I’m glad I can help support the Gala Awards Dinner. Thank you for inviting me back to do this again guys”.

As well as co-sponsoring the autograph session, US Automotive and Julie Braskett will be co-sponsoring a special Press Reception. This will enable invited members of the press to have face-to-face sessions with our star guests.

And thanks to this sponsorship it is also hoped that a special ‘Legends Bench Racing Session’ can be arranged as additional entertainment for hotel guests attending the Gala Awards Dinner. The plan is to film this to form part of the Quarter Mile Foundation’s Project 1320 – a series of TV programmes covering the history of American drag racing and the Performance Parts Aftermarket. Some European racers and businesses may well be included.

It depends upon room availability but fingers crossed that we can make it happen and watch this space for final details.

U S Automotive is also sponsoring the 24 page Souvenir Programme this year. The company is a Primary Sponsor of the BDRHoF having supported its growth over the 10 years the BDRHoF has been in existence. CEO Stewart Bassett said, “It has been a great privilege to support the BDRHoF over its first 10 years. It must be said that its growth over the last 2-3 years has been nothing less than phenomenal.

Despite its early doubters, the success of last year’s Gala Awards Dinner put down a remarkable quality mark for drag racing social occasions; one that many believed too difficult to improve upon. But this year’s event looks like surpassing that and we are proud to be part of it again”.

BDRHoF Chairman Stu Bradbury said, “I must thank all of our sponsors for helping us make this event so special. We could not produce such an occasion and show without them. It looks like the hotel rooms are getting very limited so if you haven’t booked please do so quickly. There are other good hotels in the area if availability has gone”.
