Millican Moves Up in NHRA Mello Yello Points Standings

Mcleansboro, IL – After a several month hiatus from the Covid-19 suspension of racing events, NHRA Top Fuel driver Clay Millican moved into the 8th position in the NHRA Mello Yello Top Fuel Points Standings. The popular Tennessean drove the Parts Plus Top Fuel Dragster to a quarter-final finish at the NHRA E3 Spark Plug Nationals this past weekend in Indianapolis, IN.

“Although we only got one qualifying run as rain showers hit the track on Saturday afternoon and prevented the chance to make a second run and reclaim the number one qualifying position; we knew our dragster was strong and would be a contender to win on Sunday” said Millican. After taking a first round win over Doug Foley, Millican faced Antron Brown in the quarter-finals. Although Millican had a razor sharp .049 reaction time and the starting line advantage, Brown made his quickest pass of the weekend for the win.

“Our concentration continues on winning rounds as points are now more critical than ever with the elimination of the countdown format but also plan to pick up a few NHRA Wallys on the way” concluded Millican.

Millican will be back in the driver’s seat of the Parts Plus, Your Car Your Data, Laris Motorsports Insurance Dragster at this coming weekend’s Lucas Oil NHRA Summernationals at Lucas Oil Raceway Park in Indianapolis.
