MDIR Hosts 39th Annual Snap-On Superchargers Showdown Sept 25&26
MECHANICSVILLE, MD – Maryland International Raceway (MDIR) is set to host its 39th Annual Snap-On 
Superchargers Showdown extravaganza September 25-26. The event features NEOPMA pro mods, the Wild Bunch and Jet Car action!
The Snap-On Superchargers Showdown pro mod event will feature a large 32-car field of nitrous injected, supercharged and turbocharged pro mods running the full 1/4 mile at speeds of 250 MPH in 5 Second passes! The event will mark the 9th and next to final race of the Northeast Outlaw Pro Mod Association 2015 season points chase as competitors make their late season push for the series championship. Expected NEOPMA pro mod entries include points leader Kevin McCurdy along with teammate and 2nd place in points; Tyler Hard Dwayne Wolfe, Robert Patrick, Craig Pio, Fredy Scriba, Tommy Gray, Andy Jensen, Jeff Rogers and several other strong regional competitors.
The Wild Bunch category showcases a rowdy collection of six second 200 MPH, short wheelbase and out of control supercharged altereds, roadsters and funny cars. The high horsepower group in a fan favorite and keeps them on the edge of their seats or on their feet every pass down the 1320 MDIR track. Hall of Fame Funny Car racer Bunny Burkett and the Boys will be looking to recapture their Wild Bunch crown from Corey Wilson and his 00 Altered who most recently took the trophy at the August Jet Wars event at MDIR.
Capping off the pro event feature is the return of the 300 MPH Jet Dragsters to MDIR! Jill Fazekas and the Queen of Diamonds team will square off with Ernie Bogue and the popular Jersey Thunder jet dragster in a match race that will be sure to please fans of all ages.
In additional to the pro feature, the Superchargers Showdown will off a $5,000 To Win guaranteed to win Top ET both Friday and Saturday as well as the complete Speed Unlimited ET Series event for Top ET, Mod ET, Motorcycle and Junior Dragster.
Gates open at 3 PM on Friday with ET time trials at 4 PM. The Pro Show features a Shakedown session at 5 PM and 1st Round Qualifying set for 8PM. Saturday the gates open at 9 AM with ET racing all day long. Pro Show qualifying continues with sessions at Noon and 2 PM. Pro eliminations are slated for 5, 7, 9 and 10:30 PM.
“This Snap-On Superchargers event is a fall season favorite with its appeal of both great professional, exhibition and sportsman racing action” says MDIR Vice President and General Manager Jason Miller. “This has been a must-see event and a great way to spend a fall weekend for 30 seasons now!”
General admission tickets are just $20 for Friday and $25 for Saturday of $40 for both days. Juniors (12-15) are $10 per day, Kids (6-11) are $5 per day, and children 5 and under are free.
