Leaf Racewear continues to play vital role in drag racing safety

LONDON, ON – For 2013, Leaf Racewear & Safety Equipment will return as the preferred safety equipment supplier and continue to provide a vital role for the Pro Modified Racing Association, the Quick 32 Sportsman Series, and the Pro Bike & Sled Series.

Safety is paramount in the operation of our three drag race series, explained Bruce Mehlenbacher, Director of Operations for all three series. Leaf Racewear and Safety Equipment Inc. provides the Fire and Rescue Safety team of the PMRA, Quick 32 Sportsman Series, and PBSS with two-piece fire suits, and these suits have the SFI specification rating of 3.2A/20. Suit material is set up in six categories from 3.2A/1 to the maximum 3.2A/20.

These suits are custom made and provide the highest safety rating, explained Leaf’s Colin Grandy.

These suits have the top rating, he said. The trick is to make them as safe as possible and provide comfort at the same time. They are manufactured with the layers required for protection and made comfortable for the user.

The safety and fire crew of the PMRA, the Quick 32 Sportsman Series, and the PBSS will be outfitted and ready for the first race of the season, the Thunder Nationals May 10-11 at US 131 Motorsports Park in Martin, Michigan. This is the first of six races for the three series, which provide and diverse, exciting, and colorful package of drag racing action.
