Lancaster National Dragway Moves Pro Mod Shootout to Thursday, June 9

Weather forecast is dismal, will also allow more time for Pro Mod teams to prep

LANCASTER, NY – Lancaster National Dragway management and officials are moving the Pro Modified Shootout scheduled for Tuesday, June 7 to Thursday, June 9 because of weather forecasts and to garner more teams for racing.

With all forecasts calling for rain and chilly temperatures throughout the day and into the evening on Tuesday, the track reached out to the various race teams for availability and feedback. The major consensus was Thursday would be a better day for weather and car counts.

“Rather than play the waiting game all day Tuesday to see IF the weather would clear up, we got in touch with our races to see if they were available on Thursday,” said Tim Packman, Track President. “After talking with them, they were receptive to Thursday because a few of them needed the extra time to ready their cars to race.

“The forecast looks ideal for Thursday and it sounds like we will have even more Pro Mod cars on hand now, and more Box/No Box race teams. This will give our fans the best show and racing possible and serve as a great kickoff to the weekend of drag racing at Lancaster with our VIP Night coming up on Friday, June 10.”

For the Pro Mod Shootout and Box/No Box on Thursday, June 9, the Back Gates will open at 3 p.m., Front Gates open at 4 p.m. and Time Trials will start at 5 p.m. Adult All-Access Pit Passes are $20, Students 17 to 12 are $10 and kids under 12 are free.
