Knowles’ Blown Money Pro Mod Team Headed to the NHRA Carolina Nationals
Grand Junction, CO – ZMax Dragway in Charlotte, NC. will host the 8th round of the 2014 NHRA Pro Modified series. ZMax is widely 
considered as one of the best facilities in Drag Racing and Blown Money team Owner/ Driver, Mike Knowles agrees.
“All of Bruton’s (Smith) tracks are impressive but ZMax is one of my favorites,” stated Knowles. “All of his tracks have that attention to detail. Not just from the fans side or the racers side, it’s everything, ever where. Oh’ and I also like this track because I made it to my first final thee a few years back,” added Knowles.
It was 2012 when Knowles made an impressive charge to the finals by defeating Shannon Jenkins, Donald Martin, and Mike Castellana before ultimately falling to Now Top Fuel Driver, Leah Pruett. In 2013 the Blown Money team qualified well but failed to make it out of the first round. Lead Crew Man, Bill Rice, feels the team has made some improvements in preparation for Charlotte with the hopes of not only getting to the final round but also taking home the Wally.
“Everything seems to be progressing. We did pretty well at Indy and were able to see some things that we wanted changed. I think the changes should really help us put this car into the winner’s circle this weekend, said Rice.
Each Pro Modified team will be afforded three qualifying attempts with the first set for Friday at 2:30 PM and the second at 4:30. The final attempt is scheduled for Saturday at 12:15 PM with the first round of eliminations to go off at 2:30 PM.
The remaining rounds of eliminations are set for Sunday and lead off the Pro Classes onto their second round at approximately 2PM local time.
