Kevin Wicke leads Quick 32 Sportsman Series going into upcoming final event of 2013
CAYUGA, ON – The Quick 32 Sportsman Series will conclude its 2013 schedule this weekend during the Teamsters Canada Local 879
“Thunder by the Beach” weekend at the Grand Bend Motorplex.
This will be the sixth and final race of the season, and conclude the fifth year of competition, which is presented by NAPA Auto Parts.
And the chase for the championship will be determined at this event at Grand Bend. While former champion Kevin Wicke of Stratford, Ontario leads the series with his Top Sportsman entry, there are several others who could win the season after this final race.
With two wins so far this year, the Top Sportsman team of Wilson & Gray (Bill Wilson, Rob Gray) from Ingersoll, Ontario have a strong shot at winning their first title.
Top Sportsman driver Spencer Hyde from Stratford has a chance of winning the series title this year.
A Top Dragster driver who has also won a race in 2013 in Melanie Simmons Salemi of Orillia, Ontario, and she too could be crowned champion.
As does Bill White, a Top Dragster driver from Gadshill, Ontario, who has won an event this year.
Qualifying for this race begins Friday, August 30 at 7:15 pm, and will continue Saturday, August 31 at 4 and 7 pm. Eliminations are to begin Sunday, September 1 starting at 11:15 am.
The Teamsters Canada Local 879 “Thunder by the Beach” weekend will also feature a Top Fuel Dragster Nitro Nostalgia Funny Cars, the return of the popular Jet Trains and the Grand Bend Motorsport Thunder Series, Extreme 32 Series and Junior Series, plus Fireworks.
