Johnny Ahten is Bringing a Full House to Vegas

Las Vegas –  The 2019 DENSO Spark Plugs NHRA Four-Wide Nationals at the Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway is a big deal. Johnny Ahten is well prepared because he is bringing the house. Ahten has secured three new sponsors with the signing of Montauk Native Gas, Advanco Fire Protection, and ODYSSEY® Batteries. To celebrate the new partners, Ahten commissioned One 11 Ink to whip up a new wrap for the Ahten Racing A/Fuel dragster. Familiar supporters Island Renovations, DJ Safety, ARP Bolts, NGK Spark Plugs and CleanBoost Oil along with Combust Filters are ready for a rocket blast down the quarter mile.

“I couldn’t be more excited for this race,” said Johnny Ahten. “We have surrounded ourselves with some amazing marketing partners and the Vegas race is the perfect place to show off a new look Stump Puller. The best part is I get to drive again. I would like to thank Andre Hardy of Montauk Native Gas for taking interest in me. Advanco is a large commercial Fire Sprinkler company from new construction to maintenance and recertifications of existing systems. ODYSSEY® Batteries have twice the power and triple the life of conventional lead acid designs and can handle a range of applications and performance demands.”

In the season opener at Pomona, Krista Baldwin was the driver and Ahten the anxious team owner. Last year Cameron Ferre drove the Ahten Racing dragster for several races. Now it’s time for Johnny Ahten to do what he loves – going fast down the track in a nitro burning Top Alcohol dragster.

“It’s been great having Krista and Cameron driving our cars, but now it’s my time,” a giddy Ahten added. “The whole team has been crushing it to prepare for this race and it’s going to be a good one with some strong Vegas runners. We know this track and now we have even more data and a variety of combinations in order to tune from.”

Al Ahten will be large and in-charge, with team partner Howard Katano right there with him. Providing support and turning the wrenches will be Bob Ahten and Kevin “Shark” Colvell.

Johnny Ahten’s Vegas adventure will start on Friday, April 5th with qualifying running into Saturday. Round one of eliminations is scheduled for Saturday afternoon. By then Ahten might just need a warm wash cloth to sooth his sore cheek muscles from the big grins while in his racing helmet.
