IHRA Competitor Bulletin: Modification Of “In-Division” Claiming Events

Norwalk, OH – The International Hot Rod Association™ has announced the modification of the following “in-division” claiming events for the Summit Racing Pro-Am Tour in order to better accommodate travel concerns for competitors in certain geographic regions.

“Certain divisions did not have seven events available in their division or did not have feasible options of four ‘in-division’ events that were within a reasonable travel distance,” said Mike Baker, IHRA’s Senior Director of Competition and Racing Operations.

The first modification will be the Summit Pro-Am Tour event at Union County Dragway in Union, South Carolina. It now will be included as an “in-division” claim for both Division 2 and Division 9.

The second modification is that Galot Motorsports Park in Benson, North Carolina, will be included as an “in-division” claim for Division 1 and Division 9. This change will provide the southern portion of Division 1 a more cost-effective option to obtain the minimum of four “in-division” events mandatory for season-ending award eligibility.
