Good Guy Challenge Championships Decided for 2016
DALLAS –The NHRA South Central Division 4 Good Guy Challenge Series Championships are finalized. Steve
Watson and Max McGlothin take the coveted “Hammer” award home after a hard fought Summit ET Bracket season at their home track.
The NHRA South Central Division Good Guy Challenge is a 4 race point’s series built into each Member Tracks regular season Summit ET Championship points series. Each member track selects 4 events on their schedule to send in results for before the season starts. Following each race the results are sent to the Division 4 office for verification and tabulation.
The awards that Max and Steve will receive are The Winner of each Class receives a Special edition Custom Leather Jacket “Hammer Award” in honor of our first Division Director here in the South Central Division Dale Hamm. An NHRA Wally to display in a place of prominence. As well as 2 complementary dinner and banquet tickets to attend the Champions banquet and receive their awards in the presence of their racing piers.
Max McGlothin from the Texas Motorplex is the winner of the Electronics Good Guy Challenge in the NHRA South Central Division for 2016. Max put together one win and one semi-final finish in the Good Guys Points series events to claim the victory. Max was able to take home the Super Pro Championship for the Texas Motorplex Summit ET points program in 2016 as well.
Steve Watson representing Texas Raceway came up with one win and one runner up finish to amass a 22 point lead over the second place racer Jeff Riedel from Texas Raceway. Steve had a great season at Texas Raceway as well. Steve was able to take home the 2016 Texas Raceway Foot Brake Class Championship.
The NHRA Division 4 Good Guy Challenge is a unique opportunity where every Member Tracks weekly Summit ET racers can compete against the best of the best from across the Division. No one has to travel to other tracks, everyone gets home track advantage. We are looking forward to the growth of this program and the level of competition next year.
