Flexjet Factory Stock Showdown Season Wraps Up in Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS – This weekend at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, the Flexjet Factory Stock Showdown Series will wrap up another successful season of Chevrolet COPO Camaros, Dodge Drag Paks and Ford Cobra Jets battling it out across the country. The culmination of the 10-race season will celebrate the championship season of Aaron Stanfield, who will clinch his third Flexjet Factory Stock Showdown Series world championship with his first qualifying run Friday, as well as the success of most recent winner Lenny Lottig, who will be looking to close out 2023 with back-to-back wins.

Lottig and the ITI Trailers & Truck Bodies COPO Camaro were the No. 1 qualifiers at the Texas Fall Nationals and then raced to his third victory of the season at Texas Motorplex. This weekend he will come into the NHRA Nevada Nationals with the $1,000 Flexjet Bounty up for grabs and the veteran driver will be racing to increase that prize with another win.

“I love the Flexjet bounty program. I would love to see it carry over into 2024 if we win this weekend,” said Lottig, who successfully held onto the bounty earlier this season. “We won two races in a row earlier this season with Charlotte and Chicago so Lee Hartman got a $2,000 payday in Bristol. I want that money to keep growing because that will mean I am still winning.”

Aaron Stanfield and his Stanfield Racing Engines Chevrolet COPO Camaro will enter the weekend looking to cap a championship season with a third win. The young driver from Louisiana will be chasing his third Nevada Nationals title after picking up wins in 2020 and 2021.

“We have had good luck at Las Vegas and this race will be special because we will have the championship in the bag and can race without any pressure,” said Stanfield. “I want to carry positive momentum into the off-season and getting one more win at the Nevada Nationals would be a perfect way to wrap up 2023.”

Stephen Bell and his Stanfield Racing COPO came up just short in his championship bid against Stanfield but he is also looking to cap the season on a high note. Bell raced his way to victory at the Norwalk, Ohio event and has two runner-up finishes on the season, the first at the U.S. Nationals in Indianapolis, Ind. and the second at the St. Louis, the Midwest Nationals.

“Aaron and I are best friends. I gauge every season on a couple things, if I get a win and if we are competitive at most races,” said Bell. “We’ve had a good year this season. We were chasing that first championship and we came close. I am appreciative of Greg and Aaron Stanfield for giving a customer like me a car that can compete for the championship.”

Competition in the Flexjet Factory Stock Showdown class begins with qualifying Friday at 2:05 p.m. and 5:10 p.m. PT with a third and final qualifying session on Saturday at 11:30 a.m. PT. Eliminations are slated to start Saturday afternoon with round one at 5:10 p.m. PT. The final three rounds will be contested Sunday.
