Exciting New Website Launched by Tony Positano Racing

Toronto, ON – Tony Positano is proud to announce the launch of his new website www.tonypositanoracing.com This is part of an exciting new marketing campaign being initiated by Tony in 2014 which promises to be a big season for the well known racer. The new website features the unique story of Tony Positano and his team including his background, profile, the car and crew, photo gallery, 2014 racing schedule, social media and sponsor page.

A Bit about Tony – I got the itch to race in the early 70’s where I helped my best friend race his ‘69 Nova. From there we moved to a ‘41 Willy’s (Chilly Willy) that was originally owned by Burt Straus. In 1990 I purchased a 1970 Chevelle from California with another friend of mine and we jointly raced it for two years. In ‘92 I bought a 77 Vega Wagon with a small block in it. I ran 9.50’s and raced it at ST. Thomas every weekend from 1992 – 1996.

When I purchased my Food Basics Franchise in 1996 I gave up racing to concentrate on business. I sold the franchise in 2004, decided to look into racing again. I followed Ron Shilling around the tracks for a few years to understand and learn more about it. In 2008 I decided to build a new Mike Bos dragster. We started out with a 565 Gary Stinnett motor that ran 7.60’s, went to 598 cubic inch and ran 7.40’s, added an Aluminum block and ran 7.15’s, and finally, added Nitro and ran 6.70’s. Won some races, had a great time and enjoyed the tracks, the people and the interaction with fans. Today we are running a Blown Alcohol 477 cubic inch Chevy. We are running in the 6.40 – 6.60 range depending on the tune up.

My original goal was to race for a few years, get it out of my system and then move on. Fortunately, it has been 6 years and I’m still going strong, I can not get it out of my system! I love all aspects of the drag racing environment – The Fans, The Tracks, The Volunteers, the Employees at the tracks, the Quick 32 Sportsman Series team, and the sponsors who make it all possible.

I am fortunate to have a passion in life. A passion I can afford. A passion I can share with others. A passion I can talk about with excitement.
