PORT PERRY, ON – He’s got a new car, a new engine, and a new team partner, and Pro Modified Racing Association racer Eric Latino and Team Green is ready for the new season.

“The new car is 100 percent finished,” noted Latino, who placed third in the 2010 PMRA Championship Point Award Series presented by Magnum Auto Parts and Patio Passport. “We’re all ready to race.”

With close to 30 years of racing activity, Latino has partnered for 2011 with Pro Modified car owner and team leader Rob and Ann Sporring, and has replaced his 1938 Chevy coupe with a 1969 Chevy Camaro Pro Modified.

The new car will compete with a G-Force Race Cars chassis under the Cynergy Composites body shell. Powering the Camaro is a Brad Anderson (BAE) hemi engine with a Modified Kobelco supercharger by Al Billes. A three-speed Lenco transmission sits behind the engine.

Peter Olin will remain car chief for the team, and Paolo D’Alimonte is the team’s crew chief. Rachael Olin, Matthew Latino, and Gord Campbell will provide their talents as well.

Sponsorship for the car comes from Redline Automotive, Don Butt Auto Body, Quality Plus Compressors, Magnum Auto Parts, Global Emissions Systems Inc., Ellesmere Fabricators, G-Force Race Cars, NGK Spark Plugs, Hoosier Racing Tires, Pro Racing Fuels, Kendall Motor Oil, and Vibrant Performance.

Latino will premier the new car at the upcoming opening PMRA race, the Victoria Day Challenge May 20-22 at the Cayuga Dragway of Toronto Motorsports Park. He won this event last year, and would like to repeat his success.

“The car is brand new and ready to go out,” he mentioned. “We plan on running the whole PMRA series. The car will be debuted this weekend.”
