DragRaceResults.com to debut big-bucks DRR Ultimate Series in March

GALLATIN, TN – Bracket racers looking to race for “big bucks” will have a new option this season. DRR Ultimate SeriesDragRaceResults.com, “the home of Sportsman drag racing” and the premier Sportsman drag racing website, will debut its DRR Ultimate Series at Alabama’s Huntsville Dragway in March.

“Top bulb or electronics bracket racing, as it’s known around the country, is famous for the big-bucks-style payouts, and we are combining that into a three-weekend, nine-race series for 2016,” said Scott Lemen, who co-owns DragRaceResults.com with his wife, Nicole. “The series champion will win a rolling 2017 American Race Cars-built dragster.

“I grew up racing in points series at my home track in Boise, Idaho, and competing for the NHRA Super Gas world championship for many years,” Lemen added. “George Howard had the B&M Racers Series back in the 90s, and I think since then I knew when the time came for my transition into race promoting it would be in the form of a series.”

The 2016 DRR Ultimate Series will consist of three days of racing on three individual weekends with a warm-up/test-n-tune held the day prior to each event so racers can have their cars in the most competitive form for the high-paying weekend. Each weekend, a racer can win $25,000, $50,000, and $25,000, respectively, each day with a total weekend payout to racers in excess of $200,000.

“I haven’t added it up, and of course payouts fluctuate with car counts, but I’m pretty sure with the excitement around this series we will be paying out over $750,000 and possibly approaching $1 million in total payouts and prizes for the series in 2016,” Lemen said.

The year-end points fund and prizes alone exceed $125,000 and will be paid out to the top 100 in points, with the overall champion receiving the American Race Cars dragster valued in excess of $35,000. The dragster will be painted by Todd’s Extreme Paint and completely assembled with components from Moser Engineering, Lindsey Racing Products, Hoosier Tires, Digital Delay, Auto Meter, Stroud Safety, Penske Racing Shocks, and Drag Race Solutions.

The second-place finisher will receive a 1,000-horsepower, 598-cid big-block Chevy from Oakley Motorsports valued at $19,000. It will be run on the dyno and be complete carburetor to pan with parts from World Products, Erson Cams, Diamond Pistons, Callies, Trick Flow, Jesel, Patterson Racing, and Quick Fuel Technology.

The third-place finisher will receive a complete set of Brodix SR20 big-block Chevrolet cylinder heads valued at $6,500. Racers who finish fourth through 100th will receive a cash prize; more than $50,000 will be awarded among them.

Excitement starts off each day with time trials, which will be wrapped up with a free Run for the Money contest in which the racer with the best package will receive a Yukon Gear & Axle third member on Day 1 and Day 2 of the main events. A free Run for the Money contest will also be held during the warm-up/test-n-tune, and Champ’s Performance will present an FTI torque converter to the racer with the best package.

JEGS and FTI Performance will help showcase all nine races live on DragRaceResults.com for friends and family members who cannot attend. Huntsville Engine & Performance will host a racer appreciation dinner each weekend, where the South’s famous barbecue pork, chicken, and fixings, along with beverages, will be served.

“Nicole and I are extremely excited about the support from so many extraordinary companies to make this series what it is becoming,” Lemen said. “We feel we have a very central location in Huntsville Dragway along with three great weekends that will allow racers to come from all across the nation with much ease. The first is Easter weekend, with the race beginning Thursday and running through early Saturday afternoon, allowing racers to return home for family and Easter services.

“The second weekend is Fourth of July weekend, and we will have some additional festivities planned, and the third weekend is the weekend before the famous Million Dollar Bracket Race in Montgomery, Ala., just three short hours away.”

Racers are expected from throughout the nation and Canada for what is sure to be one of the most contested Sportsman racing series in 2016. For more information, please visit the DRR Ultimate Series website (click here) or contact Scott Lemen.
