Drag Week Superstars Featured in Rampage at Route 66 Class at NMCA/NMRA Super Bowl of Street-Legal Drag Racing

Santa Ana, CA—The Fastest Street Cars in America are coming back to the NMCA Flowmaster Drag Racing Series…Larry Larson, Jeff Lutz, Joe Barry, and many others are coming to the Nitto Tire NMCA/NMRA Super Bowl of Street-Legal Drag Racing at Route 66 Raceway (Joliet, IL), July 11-14, 2013.

Appropriately named Rampage at Route 66, with an open format, these Hot Rod magazine Drag Week superstars to let it all hang out in search of the sixes and 200 plus mph. These unlimited cars are real because the street moniker has been proven by Hot Rod magazine’s torture test—watch as the undisputed baddest street cars light up the famous drag strip with 2,000-plus hp.

Adding to the madness, NMCA officials are also inviting down—or rather calling out—the baddest street cars from Illinois, Wisconsin, Michigan, Ohio or any other state to participate in Rampage at Route 66. If you think you have a fast street car then bring it to the NMCA/NMRA Super Bowl of Street-Legal Drag Racing to get in on the action. It’s an open Time Trial format that will run immediately following the Pro Street field to ensure excellent track conditions.

Match racing and Grudge racing is encouraged in this special Fastest Street Cars segment of the NMCA Flowmaster Drag Racing Series. Don’t worry about the rules..the only rule is it must be a street car. Pro Mods don’t apply. Here’s your chance to participate in the NMCA Flowmaster Drag Racing without having to worry about rules—just bring your license plates! The Nitto Tire NMCA/NMRA Super Bowl of Street-Legal Drag Racing is the largest street-legal drag racing and show car event of the year with over 750 vehicles racing and showing. The eighth annual shootout takes place July 11-14, 2013 at Route 66 Raceway in Joliet, IL. This drag race is unique in that the NMRA and NMCA are run separately all weekend long.

By Sunday night the class winners of each association are grouped into Team NMRA and Team NMCA, where they do battle to see which team reigns supreme. ProMedia officials pair up the individual categories to square off against each other in a no-breakout staggered start competition. The team with the most class wins is declared the winner and awarded prestigious Nitto Tire Diamond Tree rings for the team victory. There are also cash bonuses for each match race winner.
