Drag Racing National Championship Points battle heats up as competitors head to the Texas Motorplex for the NHRDA World Finals !

2013 MBRP Diesel Drag Racing Series

Top Diesel
NHRDA-Points ChaseJared Jones and the Scheid Diesel dragster head to the World Finals ranked #1 in the nation and holding onto a slim 30 point lead over Dawna Kraus. Jones is really is looking forward to the World Finals since it will be his first chance at clinching the MBRP Diesel Drag Racing Series National Champions.

But since the World Finals is a double points event, you never know who is going to leave with the National Championship.

Pro Stock
The rookie driver Gage Makinen heads into the World Finals with the points lead but only by 30 points. This has been a career year for Gage as he has picked up wins in Redding and Mission.

Wade Moody will be looking at the World Finals as the chance to over take his rival Makinen in the National Championship. Moody will have a chance at setting a new national record in both ET and MPH and that will be 10 extra points for each. The World Finals will decide the National Championship.

Pro Street
Jarid “The Iron Man” Vollmer has wrapped up his second consecutive MBRP Diesel Drag Racing Series Pro Street National Championship. All he wants now is a World Championship and he will be looking forward to heading back to Texas where he won earlier this year.

Vollmer drives the Bully Dog Pro Street Truck and is the current NHRDA Pro Street record holder at 8.81 seconds and 157.08 mph.

Super Street
Pat Liskey will head to the 2013 NHRDA World Finals with the points lead in Super Street. Liskey and his Big Twin Diesel Team will be looking to clinch their first ever MBRP Diesel Drag Racing Series National Championship as well as picking up their first ever NHRDA World Championship on September 28th at the Texas Motorplex in Ennis, TX.

Andrea Coddens is the only racer with a mathematical chance of catching Liskey and she would need to win the event and set either the ET or MPH record and hope Liskey either breaks before qualifying or loses first round.

Super Diesel
Nick Adamson goes to the World Finals with the points lead and will have the target on his back. Adamson has been great all year going round after round picking up wins in Mission and Woodburn.

Verlon Southwick needs to win the World Finals and needs to have a little help along the way to repeat as the MBRP Diesel Drag Racing Series National Champion in Super Diesel. We will have to wait until September 28th to find out who takes home the championship.

Sportsman

The Sportsman class is going to the World Finals with 3 different racers chasing the MBRP Diesel Drag Racing Series National Championship. Ryan DuBois is the points leader as he picked up his first win at the Big Sky Truck Fest.

Defending champ, Verlon Southwick is only 50 points behind but with double points at the World Finals anything could happen. Michael Pliska had the points lead up until the last race where he lost first round and that opened the door for DuBois and Southwick to move up the standings. It will be a great race at the Texas Motorplex on September 28th. Who will be the champion when all the smoke settles?
