Diedrich Looking Forward to WCHRA “SCE Gaskets Summer Nationals”

Firebaugh, Ca – This weekend the Firebaugh Express Racing’s “Evil Outlaw” 1957 Chevy of Jay Diedrich will be attending the West Coast Hot Rod Association’s “SCE Gaskets Summer Nationals” event at the Auto Club Famoso raceway in Bakersfield, California.

After making multiple upgrades to the car and engine over the off-season, Diedrich is now confident that he has the car needed to get a win in the tough Pro Street class. In only two races with the new Brad-8 engine and 200+ pounds removed from the car he has already run career best ET’s in the mid 6-teens and has set two different MPH records; one with the West Coast Hot Rod Association (236.77) and the other with the West Coast Outlaw Pro Mod Association (249.47).

Diedrich is currently 8th in points with the WCHRA and is undoubtedly looking to move up in the standings and add a couple more MPH’s to his current WCHRA speed record this weekend.

After his fair share of runner-up’s Jay Diedrich is looking for his first win in the Pro Street division and with help from Lonnie Houde and Bob Bunker Jr. he feels he has the car and crew to make it happen.

The West Coast Hot Rod Association’s “SCE Gaskets Summer Nationals” is a night race and will be held on Friday/Saturday June 4-5.  On Friday there will be three rounds of qualifying set for 9pm, 11:30pm and 1:30am Saturday morning. Eliminations will be held Saturday night starting at 8:45pm with the first round, 10:30pm for the second round, 11:45pm for the semi-finals and they will run all finals at 1:00am early Sunday morning.
