Demke and Maddern Racing in Vegas for a Show

Las Vegas, NV – Chris Demke and the Maddern Racing gang are back in action this weekend at the Regional race at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. They are not in Vegas to see a show at some fancy hotel, they are the show. The Top Alcohol Dragster class is the fastest and quickest cars in action this weekend and Team Peen plan on being the headliner.

“I am looking to go out there and have some fun,” said Demke. “We have had a great year, but the part attrition has been a little high. I just want to put the car together, have it stay together, and put on a great show on raceday.”

The Maddern Racing crew has had some time to prepare for this weekend’s event.  The parts have been replenished and the back-ups are in place. Just a few short weeks ago they were in the big show at Maple Grove. They were in their sixth consecutive final round in a row, and that memory is still fresh in Team Peen’s mind.

Crew Chief Jerry Maddern will be facing different conditions this weekend in Vegas. The higher altitude and warmer weather is familiar territory, but not necessarily easy to tune for.  Maddern Racing won the Big O Tires Nationals here a year ago, and they look to run well and go rounds this weekend. Crewmembers Kevin Watson, Michael Demke, Ronald Mann, and clutchguy/tuner Adam Rhoades are a well oiled machine. 801 Racing’s 70WT Performance Oil running through the veins of their racecar is likewise a well lubricated beast. Support from Peen Rite and Operational Solutions assure that it stays that way. The Chris Demke/Maddern Racing fans are loud and proud on Facebook and in person. A heavy stream of guests to the team’s pits at races gives Maddern Racing that extra edge. It may not directly transfer to a hundredth or two on the track, it surely gives positive reinforcement.

Putting on a show for the fans is a big part of what drag racing is all about. The gang from Maddern Racing wants to do just that when they strap Chris Demke in the car. Moreover, they really want to put on a show for their fellow competitors. That special show involves a great look at the rear of their racecar – all the way down the quarter mile.
