DEJORIS AND TEAM ARE LOOKING TO USE BRAINERD FOR A RUN AT THE CHAMPIONSHIP

Brainerd, MN – During the 2014 event, DeJoria became the first Funny Car pilot to clock a sub-four second run on the BIR track (3.998 E.T. during round two of eliminations).

Currently occupying the No. 6 spot in the standings with only two events remaining before the fields are set for the playoffs. Less than two competition rounds separate the third through sixth place drivers.  This makes Brainerd a key event to set the team up for a championship run.

Alexis talks about the Lucas Oil Nationals, “We only have two races left to put ourselves in the best possible position to start the Countdown, so it’s crucial we do well this weekend. We dropped to sixth in the standings last weekend, but luckily, number three through six are pretty bunched up, points-wise. Thirty-two points, less than two rounds, separates us so there’s an opportunity to make some big moves.

“We have a great car, we’ve just had some mishaps lately but we’ll bounce back. Historically, I’ve done well at Brainerd. I won the event in 2017, and in 2014, I was the first Funny Car driver to clock a three-second run there, so hoping for more Brainerd success this weekend.”
