INDIANAPOLIS, IN – With one round of qualifying for the 58th annual Mac Tools U.S. Nationals in the books, Danny Rowe sits comfortably in the No. 3 qualifying slot with a 5.983-second, 243.41mph blast down the legendary quarter-mile on the property of Lucas Oil Raceway at Indianapolis.

Rowe and company will certainly look to improve their position in the strong 16-car field of supercharged, turbocharged and nitrous oxide-injected Pro Mods, but could hardly be disappointed with their off-the-trailer performance.

“We ran pretty well today, but we sure didn’t run a 5.86,” Rowe says with a chuckle, speaking of Donnie Walsh’s turbo-powered top-qualifying pass. “Seriously, though, we’re happy to be solidly in the show, especially amongst this particular group of cars. Tomorrow we’ll just go out there and try to make another good run.

“Like I’ve said, Jimmy [Rector, crew chief] has given me a killer hot rod all season long and this crew has worked so hard – they’ve been phenomenal and it’s showed. For now, we’ll focus on trying to improve our qualifying position, stay up in the top-half of the field and get ready for race day. And maybe if we can string a few good runs together this weekend we can put this Sterling Bridge Camaro in the winner’s circle at the biggest drag race in the world.”

The second and third round of Pro Mod qualifying for the 58th annual Mac Tools NHRA U.S. Nationals at Lucas Oil Raceway in Indianapolis, Indiana, will be held at 2:00 and 5:30 PM. A final session will be held on Sunday at 2:00 PM with the first round of eliminations set to begin at 5:00 PM. Final eliminations will continue on Sunday, beginning at noon.
