Competitors prepare for first of Three NHRA “Wally” Weekends with DSE Sportsman Racing Series

Niagara Falls, ON – Local and regional racers from all over Ontario and Western New York will be converging on Toronto DSE 2nd Annual Summer Sizzler at TMP July 28 2013 320Motorsports Park this weekend as the DSE Sportsman Racing Series presents the 3rd annual Joe’s Transmission Services Canada Day Spectacular, which will feature two days of Championship Sportsman Bracket racing and coveted NHRA “Wally” Trophy’s.

Competitors in Renegade Race Fuels Super Pro and Hill Racing/ATI Performance Products Modified will be duking it out on Saturday to find out who will have the honour of taking home the NHRA Summit Racing Equipment “King of the Track” Wally Trophy, as well as a set of Goodyear Race Slicks courtesy of Series sponsor Competition Tire Canada.

 

Corriveau Concrete Forming Supplies Jr Dragster Competitors will also be vying for their own NHRA Hardware this weekend as they compete in the NHRA Jr Drag Racing League Challenge which awards NHRA Jr “Wally” Trophy’s to both the Saturday and Sunday Jr Dragster Winners.

Also running on Saturday evening will be the 1st Annual Mike Marshall Memorial Shoot-Out where 16 racers selected via a raffle will be running for hundreds of dollars in cash and prizes. Racers enter the Raffle by buying a $20 Raffle ticket, of which $10 is being donated to the Canadian Cancer Society.

Making this weekend possible is Joe Boniferro and his Company Joe’s Transmission Service in Niagara Fall’s Ontario Canada. Joe’s Transmission Service has been a large supporter of local and regional drag racing in the Western New York and Southern Ontario marketplaces, supporting not only the DSE Sportsman Racing Series but also the TNT Super Series.

“Joe and his family are huge Drag Racing supporters and they continually give back to the Drag Racing community every year by sponsoring various programs, we are thrilled to have them join us by sponsoring our Canada Day weekend along with posting $13,000 in contingency money for DSE Sportsman Series Competitors who run their Transmissions can win!” Stated Series Director Andrew Stirk

Gates open at 6 pm on Friday June 27th for event parking, with Day one of racing beginning on Saturday morning at 11 am. Spectators looking for an entertaining weekend of camping and Drag Racing are invited to come join the action at Toronto Motorsports Park with camping/event tickets (Friday-Sunday) starting at $35 per person with kids 12 and under free.

The 3rd annual Canada Day Spectacular consists of races number three and four in the twelve race $23,000 Championship Series, which features a point’s structure where racers claim their best 8 out of 12 point’s races during the season.
