Schumacher (Top Fuel/U.S. Army), Hight (Funny Car/AAA Insurance), and Johnson (Pro Stock/K&N Air Filters) were all winners at Sunday’s NHRA Midwest Nationals at Gateway International Raceway. Brogdon walked away from a dramatic crash in his Attitude Apparel Pontiac GXP in Pro Stock Eliminations at Gateway, then later in the day celebrated his first win with The Racer’s Edge Suzuki with rider Michael Phillips in Pro Stock Motorcycle.

Spring Nationals winners Larry Dixon (Top Fuel), Matt Hagan (Funny Car), Jeg Coughlin (Pro Stock), and Andrew Hines (Pro Stock Motorcycle) will all appear in one-on-one interviews with host Joe Castello.
Dixon, driver of the Al-Anabi Racing Top Fuel dragster, won Sunday for the second time this year in a pedal fest against Antron Brown. The win was Dixon’s 50th of his NHRA professional career moving him into eighth place on the all-time list, breaking a tie with Don “The Snake” Prudhomme.

Hagan, who drives the DieHard Dodge Charger Funny Car for Don Schumacher Racing, is coming off a fourth place finish in the inaugural NHRA Four-Wide Nationals at ZMax Dragway. The second-year NHRA Full Throttle Series driver currently sits in fourth place in the NHRA Funny Car championship point standings.

Force, a 14-time NHRA Funny Car champion, earned his 128th career victory in dramatic fashion by edging daughter Ashley Force Hood with a final elapsed time of 4.036 to 4.042 in the rain-delayed Funny Car final eliminations. Force’s win was the second of 2010 as he lengthened his points lead to 89 over Ron Capps, who finished third in the four-wide Funny Car finals.
