DeJORIA PUTS TOYOTA CAMRY BACK IN LAS VEGAS WINNER’S CIRCLE

LAS VEGAS, NV – Alexis DeJoria defeated Robert Hight in the finals to win Sunday’s SummitRacing.com NHRA Nationals at the Toyota LogoStrip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, the second win for the Patron XO Café Toyota Camry in four races this season.

DeJoria registered the two quickest Funny Car passes of the day, first with a 4.071-second run to defeat Matt Hagan in the opening round and then with an event-winning 4.026 over Hight. In addition, she knocked off fellow Toyota drivers Tony Pedregon and Cruz Pedregon in the second and third rounds.

BROWN GIVES TOYOTA TOP SPOT IN VEGAS NHRA QUALIFYING

LAS VEGAS, NV – Antron Brown saved the best for last as he registered a 3.768-second pass on the final Top Fuel qualifying run Toyota Logoof the weekend to earn the number one seed for Sunday’s SummitRacing.com NHRA Nationals at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

The long-time Toyota driver earned the 34th number one qualifier of his career and has now qualified in the top-five in each of the season’s first four races. Brown will enter tomorrow’s eliminations second in points.

“It’s going to be a fight all year long in Top Fuel,” said Brown. “It’s not just about being the fastest, but being the most efficient. To do it run-in and run-out is the key. We just want to keep getting better because if you don’t, you’re going to be left behind out here.”

Toyota Teams Ready for Las Vegas

BROWN IN MID-SEASON FORM, LOOKS TO REPEAT IN VEGAS – With a victory in Phoenix and a runner-up finish last Toyota Logoweekend in Gainesville, Antron Brown is proving to be in mid-season form right out of the gate in 2014.  The 2012 Top Fuel champion won seven consecutive rounds before losing in the final in Florida.  He currently stands second in points as he prepares to return to Las Vegas where he won just four months ago.  In addition to his victory in the series most recent trek to The Strip, Brown also won at the Nevada track in the spring of 2011.

BROWN TAKES TOYOTA TO NHRA TOP FUEL FINAL AT GAINESVILLE

TORRANCE, CA – Antron Brown advanced to the Top Fuel final to lead Toyota at today’s Amalie Oil NHRA Gatornationals at the Toyota LogoAuto-Plus Raceway at Gainesville in Gainesville, Fla., the third round of the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series.

Brown defeated Sidnei Frigo, Tony Schumacher and fellow Toyota driver Morgan Lucas in the first three rounds before hazing the tires in the final against Doug Kalitta. The final round loss ended a seven-round win streak for Brown, who won the most recent race at Phoenix.

TOYOTA NHRA DRIVERS SWEEP NITRO POLES AT GAINESVILLE; LANGDON TOPS IN TOP FUEL, CRUZ PEDREGON IN FUNNY CAR

TORRANCE, CA Shawn Langdon led a Toyota 1-2-3 in Top Fuel, while Cruz Pedregon put his Camry in the top spot in Funny Car Toyota Logoas Toyota drivers swept the Nitro number one qualifying positions for Sunday’s Amalie Oil NHRA Gatornationals at the Auto-Plus Raceway at Gainesville in Gainesville, Fla.
Langdon ran the quickest pass of the day on both Friday and Saturday to secure the top spot as Toyota drivers topped three of the four Top Fuel qualifying runs.  Antron Brown ran the second-quickest time of the day on Saturday for the number two spot overall, while rookie Richie Crampton led the first session on Friday and eventually placed third.

Toyota Gainesville NHRA Preview

DEJORIA OPENS SEASON WITH A FLURRY – Alexis DeJoria became the first woman in Funny Car history to run a sub-Toyota Logofour-second pass (3.997) at the season-opening Winternationals.  She quickly followed that record run up by winning her first career Nitro Funny Car event at the next race in Phoenix, defeating three NHRA champions in the process in teammate Del Worsham, John Force and Robert Hight.   Her win at Phoenix made her the only woman to win in both Nitro Funny Cars and Top Alcohol Funny Cars.  DeJoria heads into the Gatornationals third in points.

KALITTA CAMRYS 4-5 IN FUNNY CAR, LANGDON FOURTH IN TOP FUEL IN PHOENIX NHRA QUALIFYING

Phoenix, AZ – Kalitta Motorsports teammates Alexis DeJoria and Del Worsham placed fourth and fifth in Funny Car, while Shawn Toyota LogoToyota LogoLangdon was fourth in Top Fuel to lead Toyota in qualifying for Sunday’s CARQUEST Auto Parts NHRA Nationals at the Wild Horse Pass Motorsports Park in Chandler, Ariz.

After becoming the first woman ever to run in the 3.9s at Pomona in the season-opener, DeJoria continued her strong qualifying run this week, finishing in the top three in two of the four sessions.

alBALOOSHI BRINGS POINT LEAD TO PHOENIX – Khalid alBalooshi will bring the NHRA Top Fuel point lead to Phoenix after Toyota Logoearning an impressive victory at Pomona. The third-year Top Fuel driver registered runs in the 3.7s on three of his four race-day passes in defeating a Murderer’s Row line-up including Tony Schumacher, teammate Shawn Langdon, Steve Torrence and number one qualifier Doug Kalitta. alBalooshi has now won in each of his three seasons in the series.

ALBALOOSHI PUTS TOYOTA IN WINNER’S CIRCLE AT NHRA WINTERNATIONALS

POMONA, CA Khalid alBalooshi defeated Doug Kalitta in the Top Fuel final to win the season-opening Circle K NHRA Toyota LogoWinternationals at the Auto Club Raceway at Pomona, the opening round of the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series.

The victory is the third in a row for an Al-Anabi Racing Toyota dragster at Pomona and marks the ninth win by a Toyota-sponsored Top Fuel car in the last 10 events at the Southern California track.  The Dubai-native becomes the fourth different Al-Anabi driver to win at the track in the last nine races at Pomona.

DeJoria Becomes First Woman To Run in 3.9’s In Funny Car Langdon, Brown 2-3 In Top Fuel Qualifying at Pomona

POMONA, CA – Alexis DeJoria became the first woman in NHRA Funny Car history to run a sub four-second pass when she Toyota Logoregistered a 3.997-second run in her Patron XO Café Toyota Camry on her way to qualifying third for Sunday’s Circle K NHRA Winternationals at Auto Club Raceway in Pomona, Calif.

“It’s an absolutely amazing feeling to be included in that exclusive 3.9 club,” said DeJoria, one of just nine drivers in history to accomplish the feat. “I knew my guys had it in them, but to come out and do it at the first race shows how good they really are. Having both Kalitta Toyotas in the top six is awesome. Now we have to come out tomorrow and just run our race. We’ve run from near the top and lost…and we’ve run from the bottom and won, this series is so good that there are no guarantees.”
