DeJORIA PUTS TOYOTA CAMRY BACK IN LAS VEGAS WINNER’S CIRCLE
LAS VEGAS, NV – Alexis DeJoria defeated Robert Hight in the finals to win Sunday’s SummitRacing.com NHRA Nationals at the Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, the second win for the Patron XO Café Toyota Camry in four races this season.
DeJoria registered the two quickest Funny Car passes of the day, first with a 4.071-second run to defeat Matt Hagan in the opening round and then with an event-winning 4.026 over Hight. In addition, she knocked off fellow Toyota drivers Tony Pedregon and Cruz Pedregon in the second and third rounds.
BROWN GIVES TOYOTA TOP SPOT IN VEGAS NHRA QUALIFYING
LAS VEGAS, NV – Antron Brown saved the best for last as he registered a 3.768-second pass on the final Top Fuel qualifying run of the weekend to earn the number one seed for Sunday’s SummitRacing.com NHRA Nationals at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
The long-time Toyota driver earned the 34th number one qualifier of his career and has now qualified in the top-five in each of the season’s first four races. Brown will enter tomorrow’s eliminations second in points.
“It’s going to be a fight all year long in Top Fuel,” said Brown. “It’s not just about being the fastest, but being the most efficient. To do it run-in and run-out is the key. We just want to keep getting better because if you don’t, you’re going to be left behind out here.”

BROWN TAKES TOYOTA TO NHRA TOP FUEL FINAL AT GAINESVILLE
TORRANCE, CA – Antron Brown advanced to the Top Fuel final to lead Toyota at today’s Amalie Oil NHRA Gatornationals at the Auto-Plus Raceway at Gainesville in Gainesville, Fla., the third round of the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series.
Brown defeated Sidnei Frigo, Tony Schumacher and fellow Toyota driver Morgan Lucas in the first three rounds before hazing the tires in the final against Doug Kalitta. The final round loss ended a seven-round win streak for Brown, who won the most recent race at Phoenix.

Phoenix, AZ – Kalitta Motorsports teammates Alexis DeJoria and Del Worsham placed fourth and fifth in Funny Car, while Shawn Toyota LogoLangdon was fourth in Top Fuel to lead Toyota in qualifying for Sunday’s CARQUEST Auto Parts NHRA Nationals at the Wild Horse Pass Motorsports Park in Chandler, Ariz.
After becoming the first woman ever to run in the 3.9s at Pomona in the season-opener, DeJoria continued her strong qualifying run this week, finishing in the top three in two of the four sessions.

alBALOOSHI BRINGS POINT LEAD TO PHOENIX – Khalid alBalooshi will bring the NHRA Top Fuel point lead to Phoenix after earning an impressive victory at Pomona. The third-year Top Fuel driver registered runs in the 3.7s on three of his four race-day passes in defeating a Murderer’s Row line-up including Tony Schumacher, teammate Shawn Langdon, Steve Torrence and number one qualifier Doug Kalitta. alBalooshi has now won in each of his three seasons in the series.

POMONA, CA – Khalid alBalooshi defeated Doug Kalitta in the Top Fuel final to win the season-opening Circle K NHRA Winternationals at the Auto Club Raceway at Pomona, the opening round of the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series.
The victory is the third in a row for an Al-Anabi Racing Toyota dragster at Pomona and marks the ninth win by a Toyota-sponsored Top Fuel car in the last 10 events at the Southern California track. The Dubai-native becomes the fourth different Al-Anabi driver to win at the track in the last nine races at Pomona.

“It’s an absolutely amazing feeling to be included in that exclusive 3.9 club,” said DeJoria, one of just nine drivers in history to accomplish the feat. “I knew my guys had it in them, but to come out and do it at the first race shows how good they really are. Having both Kalitta Toyotas in the top six is awesome. Now we have to come out tomorrow and just run our race. We’ve run from near the top and lost…and we’ve run from the bottom and won, this series is so good that there are no guarantees.”
