GODERICH, ONTARIO – The 1963 Split-window Corvette of the TTK Transport Inc. team has received a new
powerplant over the off-season, and team driver Darryl McMillen is hoping for a stronger showing in the 2011 Quick 32 Sportsman Series presented by NAPA Auto Parts when he takes to the track.
“We’re running the same chassis,” noted McMillen, “but we’ve got a better and faster motor along with a new tranny.”
The Top Sportsman team placed 11th in the Quick 32 Sportsman Series Championship Point Award Series standings in 2010. The team qualified for each event, and took some eighth and quarter-round finals.
The team placed 10th in the Championship Point Award Series in 2009, highlighted with a win in the Top Sportsman class during the September 19 race at the Cayuga Dragway of Toronto Motorsports Park that year and the overall victory for an event title with a 7.158-second, 189.60-mph posting.

OSGOODE, ONTARIO – Quick 32 Sportsman Series presented by NAPA Auto Parts competitor Paolo Giust is ready for the upcoming season in this popular drag race series.
“I’m ready to go,” he said recently. “And the car is ready. There won’t be many changes to the car as it was a new car last season.”
Giust, driving in the Quick 32 Sportsman Series Top Dragster class, did not attend all events in 2010 due to business commitments, but the driver of the 2009 Race Tech Race Cars and Components Top Dragster made his mark.
Right at the start of the season, he captured an event win during the first event in May held at the Cayuga Dragway of Toronto Motorsports Park. For other events, he always qualified in the top five, and took home a couple of first-round wins and was also a quarter-finalist during the Quick 32 Sportsman Series event at the IHRA Nitro Jam at the Grand Bend Motorplex in his first year of Quick 32 Sportsman Series racing.

FONTHILL, ONTARIO – For Steve Corriveau, 2010 was the right time to start racing in the Quick 32 Sportsman Series presented by NAPA Auto Parts.
“I’ve always loved fast doorslammers,” said the driver of the 1967 Chevy II Top Sportsman entry. “I was trying to find the right time to get into this type of racing, but the Quick 32 Sportsman Series opened the door.”
After racing for about 20 years, Corriveau toyed with a dragster to race in the series, but the opportunity came along to purchase the ex-Bruce Boland Pro Modified, and he set out to make the car a top runner in the Quick 32 Sportsman Series. Running a DSE1-built big-block Chevy engine, Corriveau won the Top Sportsman side during the series’ opener at the Cayuga Dragway of Toronto Motorsports Park in May of 2010, and knew he had made the right decision.

ORANGEVILLE, ONTARIO – The Hinbest Racing team certainly enjoys racing its Top Dragster in the Quick 32 Sportsman Series presented by NAPA Auto Parts, but the team also
gave to charity through its racing this year.
In a coordinated program with sponsor Ideal Supply, the team donated $50 to charity for every round win on the dragstrip during regular competition in 2010, and Ideal matched the team’s contribution.
“This was something we decided to do earlier,” said team driver Mike Hinbest. “The goal was to help raise money for charity while adding an extra incentive for me to win.”
With six round wins, Hinbest Racing and Ideal Supply contributed $600 this season to the Canadian Cancer Society.

WARTBURG, ONTARIO – Although he has driven several classes of drag cars, Scott Wildgust made the transition
from door car to a dragster in fine fashion this season, placing second in the Quick 32 Sportsman Series presented by NAPA Auto Parts with 1176 points, only two points out of first place.
“We had a great year,” said Wildgust, driver of the White and Wild Racing Top Dragster entry of himself and co-owner Bill White. “We had a great crew for the season, and Bill is a great partner.”
The former PMRA Pro Modified driver campaigned a 1957 Chevy in the Quick 32 Sportsman Series in 2009, but Wildgust and White put together a Top Dragster that was a strong and consistent contender.
