NMCA WEST Announces 2016 Schedule
Home to the “West Coast’s Fastest Street Cars”, NMCA WEST events include some of the best drag racing & autocross in SoCal
Santa Ana, CA – NMCA WEST and VP Racing Fuels are proud to announce the official schedule for the 2016 season. 
Home to the “West Coast’s Fastest Street Cars”, each NMCA WEST event includes the most competitive grassroots drag racing in Southern California along with an incredible autocross, manufacturers’ midway and vendor row. It’s the best value in motorsports for all types of automotive enthusiasts. Competitors who are deemed champions at each race will take a trip to the Aerospace Components Winners Circle to accept their trophy.
“Our entire team is looking forward to another competitive year of drag racing and autocross on the west coast, with some exciting class changes and additions for 2016,” said National Event Director, Rollie Miller. “Our racers and fans can expect another great year with NMCA WEST at Auto Club Dragway.”

Ford Nationals Series features an exciting line-up of events including the return to racetracks rich in history with the National Mustang Racers Association.
National Event Director Rollie Miller said, “Moving to Maple Grove Raceway puts us back into the exciting Philadelphia and New Jersey markets, we haven’t been there in a few years. We are looking forward to working with Lex Dudas and his staff, bringing back the Ford Motorsport Nationals to Maple Grove.”

2015 Chevrolet Performance Shootout Race Wrap from Summit Motorsports Park
Santa Ana, CA – Rescheduled to be hosted at the 14th Annual NMCA Flowmaster World Finals in Norwalk, Ohio, the 
Chevrolet Performance Shootout came to Summit Motorsports Park with guns- and bullhorns-blazing as heads up and index racers looked to flex their cars’ LSX muscle.
The quickest cars of the Chevrolet Performance Shootout compete in JE Pistons Drag Radial presented by K1 Technologies, and Elk Grove Village, Illinois’ Anthony Manna was the quickest, posting a 4.31-second elapsed time (eighth-mile) at 180 mph-some 8 mph faster than number-two qualifier Mark Carlyle. Carlyle went out in the first round, and it was David Atkins that would face Manna in the all-fourth-gen-Camaro final. Adkins took a slight advantage at the hit (.114 to .128), but Manna’s black machine powered past, running 4.35 at 179 to Adkin’s 4.61 at 167.

NMCA Race Wrap for 10th Annual Nitto Tire NMCA/NMRA Super Bowl of Street Legal Drag Racing at Route 66 Raceway in Joliet, IL
Santa Ana, CA – For the tenth year in a row, the NMCA Flowmaster Drag Racing series pulled into Route 66 Raceway 
in Joliet, Illinois, for the Nitto Tire Super Bowl of Street Legal Drag Racing. The exciting event joins the NMCA and its sister series, the NMRA, for a weekend of hard-launching, high-horsepower action, and this year’s event attracted more than 600 cars of various elapsed-time levels in twenty-three categories.
NMCA and NMRA drivers focused on qualifying and racing in their respective categories until the final day of competition, when NMCA event winners and NMRA event winners squared off against each other to claim the Super Bowl championship. Each member of the winning team received a Nitto Tire Diamond Tree ring that features diamonds, rubies, and emeralds in the shape of a drag-racing Christmas tree, along with some money to fill their pockets. For the eighth time, the NMRA took the win over the NMCA, which has earned two wins in Super Bowl history.

NMRA Race Wrap for 10th Annual Nitto Tire NMRA/NMCA Super Bowl of Street Legal Drag Racing at Route 66 Raceway in Joliet, IL
Santa Ana, CA – It was a wild conclusion to the 10th Annual Nitto Tire NMRA/NMCA Super Bowl of Street Legal 
Drag Racing. Over 600 race cars converged on Route 66 Raceway in Joliet, IL on Thursday to begin four days of euphoric competition between the two sanctioning bodies. Each series competes separately with three rounds of qualifying and elimination runs. Once the NMRA Keystone Automotive and NMCA Flowmaster event champions are declared through 23 categories, including both HP Tuners True Street and Gear Vendors True Street, the competition officials then pair up the winners with a corresponding category from the other series.
The Super Bowl Shootout isn’t an easy or equal crossover and this year we ended up with twelve pairings. The tiebreaker was the final match with the Strange Engineering Coyote Stock lining up with Chevrolet Performance Stock; the winner of that final pair would be rewarded with two points in the Shootout to eliminate any tie. Breaking right to the good stuff-NMRA won again and it came down to the final pair for the third year in a row! Drew Lyons commanded his Coyote Stock car to the finish line with a 10.45 at 127 mph to turn on the win-light against his competitor, Glenn Pushis. It was dramatic and Lyons was the hero of the day after Team NMRA battled back and forth before going behind by one point heading into the finals. It was practically a scripted finale between both teams with NMRA walking away with the Nitto Tire Diamond Tree ring for the eighth time in the past ten years.

Santa Ana, CA – The NMCA Flowmaster Muscle Car Nationals Series is pleased to announce the new date and 
location for the rescheduled 9th Annual Chevrolet Performance Shootout (formerly the LSX Shootout). This exciting event will now take place at the NMCA World Street Finals at Summit Motorsports Park in Norwalk, Ohio during the weekend of August 27-30, 2015. Originally scheduled for the 2015 NMCA event in Indianapolis, the shootout was cancelled and rescheduled due to Tropical Storm Bill. The 9th Annual Chevrolet Performance Shootout is the largest LS and modern LT drag race of the year!
With the advent of GM’s all-new LT engine platform, the LSX Shootout was rebranded the “Chevrolet Performance Shootout,” which continues to be the largest all LS and modern LT drag race event of the year. Summit Motorsports Park, fondly referred to as America’s Racetrack, is one of the finest facilities in the country with the best hookin’ quarter-mile that’ssure to set records courtesy of TJ “El Prepe” Bailey and Kurt “Stupid Sticky” Johnson!

Chevrolet Performance Nationals presented by Scoggin-Dickey Parts Center in Commerce, Georgia. Racers and fans alike found something to enjoy whether it was on Atlanta Dragway’s quarter-mile, in the car show, or amid the cones of the Hotchkis Sport Suspension Autocross presented by Nitto Tire.
In JE Pistons Drag Radial presented by K1 Technologies competition, Sonnie Pongonis took the easy trip to the Aerospace Components Winner’s Circle with his 2007 Corvette, as top qualifier Joe DeDona was unable to make the final-round lane call with his C5 Corvette.
