NHRA CANCELS IN-N-OUT BURGER NHRA FINALS DUE TO ADVERSE WEATHER AND UNSAFE TRACK CONDITIONS

Points leaders Austin Prock (Funny Car), Dallas Glenn (Pro Stock) and Richard Gadson (Pro Stock Motorcycle) pick up world championships on Sunday

POMONA, CA – NHRA officials have made the unfortunate decision on Sunday to cancel this weekend’s In-N-Out Burger NHRA Finals at In-N-Out Burger Pomona Dragstrip due to persistent and adverse weather and unsafe track conditions.

After an exhaustive effort from the NHRA Safety Safari and following close consultation with safety officials this weekend, NHRA made the decision to cancel the race.

The rest of the 2025 NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series world champions have been determined by the current points standings on Sunday, as Austin Prock (Funny Car), Dallas Glenn (Pro Stock) and Richard Gadson (Pro Stock Motorcycle) picked up championships. It’s the second straight world title for Prock, while Glenn and Gadson earned their first world titles.

Doug Kalitta earned his second career Top Fuel world championship on Saturday.

“While we explored every possible option to complete the event this weekend, the safety of our competitors, teams and fans remains the highest priority, which led to this difficult decision to cancel the event,” NHRA President Glen Cromwell said.

“We thank the incredible NHRA community – and especially the fans for braving the elements – for their unwavering support throughout this challenging weekend and during an unforgettable 2025 season.” Continue reading

TOP FUEL’S DOUG KALITTA CLAIMS SECOND TITLE ON SATURDAY IN-N-OUT BURGER NHRA FINALS

POMONA, CA – For the second time in three years, Doug Kalitta is a world champion, as the veteran officially clinched the 2025 NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series Top Fuel world championship on Saturday at the In-N-Out Burger NHRA Finals at In-N-Out Burger Pomona Dragstrip.

Kalitta locked up the title when qualifying was canceled on Saturday due to weather. It marked a far different feel than Kalitta’s first championship, which went down to a winner-take-all final round at Pomona in 2023.

This time, Kalitta’s dominance in the Countdown to the Championship playoffs ensured that a pressure-packed situation wouldn’t be necessary. He reached the final round of the first four playoff races, winning in St. Louis and Dallas to take control in his 12,000-horsepower Mac Tools dragster.

That led to the championship being clinched on Saturday, as Kalitta celebrated with his team before the first round of eliminations even started. Continue reading

DALLAS GLENN RETURNS TO IN-N-OUT BURGER POMONA DRAGSTRIP LOOKING FOR PRO STOCK REDEMPTION

POMONA, CA – The 2024 NHRA Pro Stock world championship was a race for the history books, and one Dallas Glenn will never forget.  He missed out on his first championship by a .002-second margin to his KB Titan Racing teammate and six-time champ Greg Anderson, but at this weekend’s 60th annual In-N-Out Burger NHRA Finals at famed In-N-Out Burger Pomona Dragstrip, Glenn has a chance for redemption at the final race of the 2025 NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series season.

Coming into this weekend’s event, Glenn and his RAD Torque Systems team have eight wins on the season, including four in the Countdown to the Championship playoffs. Entering the final event of the season with a 92-point lead over Anderson, Glenn has a calm outlook for Pomona and is ready to get to the track.

“I definitely feel way more relaxed and way less nervous,” said Glenn. “I was a wreck last year, even though I felt like I was still driving well. Now, having another year of experience has definitely helped. I know I need to go up there and do my thing, and just take it one round at a time.” Continue reading

ELITE COMPANY ON THE LINE FOR FUNNY CAR’S AUSTIN PROCK & MATT HAGAN AT IN-N-OUT BURGER NHRA FINALS

POMONA, CA – For a third straight season, either Austin Prock or Matt Hagan will end up with the Funny Car world championship at this weekend’s 60th annual In-N-Out Burger NHRA Finals at In-N-Out Burger Pomona Dragstrip.

Both are chasing elite territory, as Prock has a chance for back-to-back world championships, while Hagan is after a fifth world title in the loaded Funny Car ranks. A fifth championship would put Hagan with the legendary John Force as the only drivers to win five or more Funny Car titles, while Prock will try to become just the seventh driver in Funny Car history to win back-to-back championships and only the second in the last 23 years.

Prock enters the points-and-a-half weekend with a 101-point lead over Hagan, putting him in an ideal position entering the finale. Should he qualify well and win the opening round, the championship is his, which would cap off an incredible two-year run that has included 17 wins thus far (nine this year) and 22 No. 1 qualifiers in his 12,000-horsepower Cornwell Tools Chevrolet SS. TOP FUEL CHAMP-TO-BE DOUG KALITTA IN CELEBRATORY MOOD AHEAD OF IN-N-OUT BURGER NHRA FINALS

POMONA, CA – With a celebration set and a world title all but decided, Top Fuel veteran Doug Kalitta heads to In-N-Out Burger Pomona Dragstrip this weekend with a far different feeling than he’s ever had for the 60th annual In-N-Out Burger NHRA Finals.

Years of anguish, near-misses and second-place finishes finally gave way to the elusive world championship in 2023, but even that came down to a thrilling and drama-filled winner-take-all final round against Leah Pruett.

This time around, it’s a far different feeling for Kalitta, who will clinch his second championship in three years this weekend. Once the 59-time event winner attempts a qualifying run and makes the field, the championship will be his, giving him a world title under far less stressful conditions once qualifying ends on Saturday.

It will still be a surreal moment for Kalitta, who has performed well in the Countdown to the Championship playoffs in his 12,000-horsepower Mac Tools dragster and now just needs to put the finishing touches on yet another banner year. Continue reading
