Tommy Gray tops MDIR War On Wheels III Event, Claims $4,500!

MECHANICSVILLE, MD – On a picture perfect night at Maryland International Raceway (MIDIR), Baltimore based Tommy Gray - WOW III WinnerTommy Gray and his ’05 Supercharged Corvette stood tall as the “Last Man Standing”, topping a strong field of 10 pro mods to take home the $4,000 payday as well as the additional $500 bonus provided courtesy of Best Western Plus of La Plata, Maryland at the tracks War on Wheels III mid-week feature.

The event featured a “unique” no qualifying or ladders format where racers draw from a deck of cards for their pairing and lane assignments for eliminations following an earlier shakedown pass. The show, attracted a pre-commitment list of 12 competitors, however the 3-6 PM open test session offered to all pro mod races prior to the event provided an early casualty with West Virginia’s Dwayne Wolfe suffering engine issues and un-able to make the first round call. Robert Patrick Jr. was also on the property with his ’15 GTO, however, Patrick chose to use the evening for some testing on the quarter-mile looking to sort of his combination for up-coming ’15 events.

Mid-Week Event Promises Plenty of Wild Pro Mod Action!

MECHANICSVILLE, MD – Maryland International Raceway (MDIR) is set to host its War on Wheels; “Last Man Pro Mod Newcomer Mac McAdamsStanding” 1/8 mile outlaw pro mod special mid-week event on Wednesday, July 8.

Beyond the great 1/8 mile pro mod racing action on the track, the event features a “unique”, no qualifying or ladders format with $4,000 going to the “last man standing!” In addition to the attractive winning amount, there is also $1,000 going to the runner up, $500 to each semi and $200 to quarter finalists.  This format provides a great opportunity for in-between national/regional event series testing, to have fun with fellow racing family, friends and this one-night event is a big hit with the fans (and best of all the popular “Fox Hunt” where all ladies are admitted free)!

MARYLAND INTERNATIONAL RACEWAY HOSTS its 37th ANNUAL MOUNTIAN MOTOR NATIONALS

Event Promises to Deliver a Lot of Horsepower, Speed, Excitement, and Variety!

MECHANICSVILLE, MD – The 37th Annual Mountain Motor Nationals promises to possibly be one of the highest-Dwayne Wolfe 2014 NEOPMA Championquality, biggest variety events on record for the annual May classic at Maryland International Raceway.

The unique annual event will feature the region’s ever popular 900+ cubic inch, turbo-charged, supercharged, and nitrous injected pro mods in the 2nd stop of the season for the Northeast Outlaw Pro Mod Drag Racing Series 2015 points series chase. Over 20 entries are expected to invade MDIR in hopes to qualify for the 1/4 mile 16-car field. Earlier entries include season-opener event champion Kevin McCurdy in his Hamburg, PA based ’68 supercharged Camaro along with teammate and event runner-up Tyler Hard in his nitrous breathing immaculate ’68 Camaro. Also scheduled to attend the event include ’14 points series champion Dwayne Wolfe, along with series favorites Fred Scriba, Steve Assenmacher, Craig Pio as well as local standouts Mac McAdams and Rob Hunnicutt, among others.
