Keith Haney ready to double up at Throw Down with Notorious and Enigma
TULSA, OK – Keith Haney has a pair of reasons why he’s excited for the Throw Down in T-Town this weekend at
Osage Casino Tulsa Raceway Park: Notorious and Enigma and to top it all off this is the first time BOTH cars have been at the same event.
“Notorious” is the Lucas Oil/RacingJunk.com Pro Nitrous Chevrolet Camaro that Haney will race in the Mid-West Pro Mod Series portion of the Throw Down, while “Enigma” is entered in the Radial vs. The World Class at Tulsa.
Whether Haney will drive both Keith Haney Racing cars himself remains to be seen. Fans need to come to the Throw Down to find out.
“Notorious hasn’t raced all year long,” Haney said. “Enigma has raced in two races, and now we’re bringing both Notorious and Enigma to Tulsa – and we’re going to kick everybody’s asses in Radial vs. The World and the new Mid-West Pro Mod Series.
Keith Haney shocks the world: Daddy Dave to drive ‘Enigma’ in St. Louis
TULSA, OK – Keith Haney and Keith Haney Racing don’t do anything small. So to help kick off the Mid-West Pro
Mod Series, which races in the Heads-Up Hootenanny event next weekend at Gateway Motorsports Park, Haney will introduce a special driver for his “Enigma” Chevrolet Camaro in the Radial vs. The World class.
“Keith Haney Racing decided to shock the world,” Haney said. “I’m coming to St. Louis, not only to drag everybody’s asses with (Pro Mod car) ‘Notorious,’ but I’ve decided to give something back, not only to the series but to the fans. Daddy Dave, Street Outlaw, will be driving Enigma in Radial vs. The World.”
“Daddy Dave” is David Comstock, star of “Street Outlaws” on Discovery Channel.
“I’m excited about getting back into a nitrous car,” Comstock said. “I haven’t competed against those boys like Mills and Mark Mickie and Woodruff. My personal car isn’t fast enough, so it’ll be really, really exciting to see how I match up to the pros in Radial vs. The World.
Keith Haney, Keith Haney Racing to skip final PDRA race of 2016
TULSA, OK – Keith Haney and his Keith Haney Racing team are likely done for the 2016 season after Haney decided
not to race “Notorious” in the PDRA World Finals this weekend at Virginia Motorsports Park.
Haney has driven the Lucas Oil/RacingJunk.com Chevrolet — nicknamed “Notorious” — in the Pro Nitrous class this season, but he and his team are taking the weekend off.
“It saddens me a little bit because it’s a Brian Olson memorial, and he was such a great friend to me,” Haney said. “But to drive 22 hours the week after racing in the Throw Down (in T-Town) was going to be tough. It doesn’t matter where I’m at in the points, and I can finish in the top 10.
Keith Haney powers ‘Notorious’ to Throw Down final round
TULSA, OK – Keith Haney took “Notorious” to the final round of the Osage Casino Throw Down in T-Town. Trying
to win at Osage Casino Tulsa Raceway Park, the track he co-owns with Todd Martin, Haney took the Lucas Oil/RacingJunk.com Chevrolet nicknamed “Notorious” to the final round of the Pro Boost/Pro Nitrous class.
There, Haney made a rare mistake behind the wheel, and he drew a red light against Ron Muenks.
“I had the car to win the whole race,” Haney said. “I just didn’t execute as a driver. I’ll call myself out, just I like I would anyone else on the team, and we end up with a runner-up finish.”
Keith Haney wants to take ‘Notorious’ back to Throw Down in T-Town victory circle
TULSA, OK – Keith Haney returns to the cockpit of his “Notorious” race car for this weekend’s Osage Casino Throw
Down in T-Town, and he hopes to take his bad-to-the-bone hot rod back to victory lane at Osage Casino Tulsa Raceway Park, a track he co-owns with Todd Martin.
Haney won the Throw Down in T-Town, a semi-annual race, in October 2013, and was runner-up at another Throw Down this past May. He’ll try to repeat those performances once again when he races the powerful Pro Nitrous Chevrolet, which is sponsored by Lucas Oil and RacingJunk.com, at his home track.
“This one’s mine,” Haney said. “It’s my turn to get it back. We haven’t won in a while, but I’m bringing a big gun to the knife fight this time.”
Keith Haney will donate Spring Nationals winnings to injured photographer
ROCKINGHAM, NC – Lucas Oil/RacingJunk.com Pro Nitrous racer Keith Haney will donate his winnings from the
PDRA Spring Nationals last weekend at Rockingham Dragway to Ian Tocher, the photographer injured in the crash that took the life of Top Sportsman driver Ronnie Davis.
Haney reached the semifinals in the Pro Nitrous class during an emotional weekend at Rockingham Dragway.
“I am donating my winnings from the race to Ian and his family,” Haney said. “I’m going to match what I won and give that amount to his family. He works for Drag Illustrated, and he’s going to be off work, so if this can help just a little, then that will make me happy.”
Keith Haney Racing ready to debut ‘Notorious’ at PDRA opener
TULSA, OK – After a successful debut of his “Enigma” Drag Radial car, Keith Haney Racing will unveil his
“Notorious” race car for the PDRA Nationals next weekend at Osage Casino Tulsa Raceway Park. Keith Haney will drive Notorious, his Lucas Oil/RacingJunk.com Chevrolet, at the PDRA opener March 10-12.
“We’ve all gotten away from what racing was,” Haney said. “Back in the day, you had ‘the Snake’ and ‘the Mongoose’ and you knew them by their cars. You had names for all these cars; it wasn’t the driver. Fans knew the car by its name.
“We did that with our Drag Radial car, the Enigma. We brought Enigma out, and on the side of the car was, ‘You Know My Name.’ Was it a little cocky? Absolutely. Did we go shock the Drag Radial world? Absolutely. Are we the fastest nitrous car in the world? Yes. That’s what I want to do with Notorious.”
There’s a new player in the drag radial world: Keith Haney
TULSA, OK – Look out, drag radial world, there’s a new player in town. After keeping it under wraps for six months,
Keith Haney has unveiled a new Radial vs. The World race car that he’ll debut in the Lights Out 7 race on Feb. 18-21 at South Georgia Motorsports Park in Cecil, Ga.
Haney, a regular Pro Nitrous competitor in the Professional Drag Racers Association, will race the new car at least three times in 2016, including at the Radial Revenge Tour race on April 1-2 at Osage Casino Tulsa Raceway Park.
Haney got to know the competitors in the drag radial world over the last several years, and he became a fan of the cars and the racing.
“All of them think I talk the game but don’t want to walk the game,” Haney said. “Well, I’m not coming out as a pretender in this class; I’m coming out as a contender. My combination is going to work in a radial car.
Keith Haney Racing ready for next year after fast close to 2015 season
TULSA, OK – There’s an old adage in racing that’s apropos for the 2015 season of Keith Haney and his Keith Haney
Racing team: “It’s not how you start, it’s how you finish.”
Haney’s Lucas Oil/RacingJunk.com Pro Nitrous Chevrolet Camaro closed out the year with quick elapsed times and high speed, capping a second-half surge that made him a consistent contender in the Professional Drag Racers Association.
“I could not be any happier with the way things ended, other than I wish I would’ve won,” Haney said. “I wish we would’ve found the last half of the year at the beginning of the season. We would’ve won some races then.”
Keith Haney ready to win Dragstock XII at Rockingham Dragway
ROCKINGHAM, NC – Keith Haney and his Keith Haney Racing team have done everything but win this year, so he
has one goal for this weekend’s PDRA Dragstock XII at Rockingham Dragway: Win.
“I said it before and I’ll say it again: We’re not pretenders, we’re contenders,” Haney said. “It’s time to race this Camaro to the winner’s circle this weekend. That’s what I’m going for. I won’t be satisfied with anything but a win. I’ve got a runner-up this year, some round-wins, but I need to go win some races in PDRA against the best.”
Haney and his Lucas Oil/RacingJunk.com Pro Nitrous Chevrolet Camaro have performed well since a switch to a new Reher-Morrison Racing Engines powerplant in May, and he raced to a runner-up finish in the Throw Down in T-Town at Osage Casino Tulsa Raceway Park last month.
