Rain Ruins Haney’s Personal-Best Quest in Bowling Green
TULSA, OK – Unfortunately for Keith Haney Racing and the rest of the Summit Racing Equipment Mid-West Pro 
Mod Series (MWPMS) competitors, their event ended before eliminations could begin Apr. 13, due to heavy rain storms forecast at Beech Bend Raceway Park in Bowling Green, KY. The MWPMS, which Haney also owns and promotes, participated as a featured class within the Holley EFI Outlaw Street Car Reunion.
“It’s always disappointing when you don’t get to finish what you started, and I feel for (OSCR promoter) Tyler Crossnoe. I know what it’s like to have to call off something like this after you’ve put so much time and work and money into making things happen,” said the Tulsa-based new car dealer, who was racing at Beech Bend with “Notorious,” his nitrous-injected 2014 Pro Mod Camaro.
“It was a great event throughout testing and qualifying for everyone. I know a lot of people made their best runs ever and we were going after one in the final qualifying session, too, but a last-minute problem on the starting line cost us the attempt,” Haney explained.
MWPMS Season Opener Delivers Semi-Final Finish for Haney
ENNIS, TX – Consistency and an oh-so-close result in the semi-finals left Tulsa-based Pro Mod star Keith Haney 
feeling very positive about the season-opening Summit Racing Equipment Mid-West Pro Mod Series event Mar. 9, at the Texas Motorplex, near Dallas.
“Seventeen-thousandths at the stripe, that’s all that separated us,” Haney said of his race against young gun Justin Jones, who won with a 3.69 over Haney’s 3.73 at more than 201 mph. “I treed him with a .002 light to his .023 and I even had him at half track, but my car started shooting sparks out the right header and laid over a little and he was able to just sneak on by me at the finish.”
Beyond reaching the semis, Haney left the Motorplex feeling impressed with his team’s overall performance and encouraged by their strong start to the 2019 MWPMS season.
Haney Leaves Lights Out 10 with Mixed Feelings
TULSA, OK – Usually, a pre-race grudge match victory, followed by a solid qualifying run in the quickest Radials 
vs. the World (RvW) field ever assembled and a first-round win would add up to at least a satisfying outing for Keith Haney. However, the veteran drag racer left Lights Out 10 with mixed feelings over his results this past weekend at South Georgia Motorsports Park (SGMP).
“You know what, if you take my weekend, it was absolutely, truthfully, a great weekend. We raced hard, had some fun and met some great race fans. I also want to thank my crew: Brandon Switzer, Andrew Arnold, Shane Goodnight, and Dale and Cale Hancock, and of course my girlfriend, Misty Hayes, for her undying support. I really couldn’t be out there without any of them.
“And Lights Out? I truly think it’s one of the best shows on the planet, the Super Bowl of drag racing when it comes to little tires,” said Haney, who also is a financial contributor to promoter Donald Long’s annual events at SGMP.
Haney Counts on Consistency to Carry Lights Out 10 Victory
TULSA, OK – It’s been 10 months since Keith Haney last raced “Enigma,” his nitrous-boosted, drag radial-equipped 
2016 Camaro. Regardless, he’s hoping to capture one of the sport’s crown jewels with it this weekend (Feb. 14-17) at Lights Out 10, the prestigious radial-racing season opener from promoter Donald Long at South Georgia Motorsports Park (SGMP).
“I’m excited to get back in the ring of fire. I’ve had a lot of great fans across the country ask me if I was ever going to race the little-tire car again. Well, yes I am, it’s down in North Carolina at Brandon Switzer’s shop getting a little tender loving care,” says Haney, owner or co-owner of several Tulsa-area new car dealerships, as well as co-owner with Todd Martin of historic Tulsa Raceway Park.
“And Lights Out sets the tone,” he declares. “I proved it in 2015 when I first went there. I made the drag radial world go faster then and now they’re going even faster and it’s time for me to pick up the pace with the nitrous and you know, get back in the game.”
Career-Best Numbers Highlight Haney’s Elite 16 Experience
TULSA, OK – Randy Merick picked up the trophy and a $50,000 check for winning the inaugural Elite 16 event presented by Elite Motorsports and the Mid-West Pro Mod Series (MWPMS), but MWPMS owner and Elite 16 promoter Keith Haney left the Texas Motorplex early this month feeling every bit as fulfilled and satisfied.
“The Elite 16 achieved exactly what we were hoping for in bringing together some of the absolute best Pro Mod racers from many different backgrounds and sanctioning bodies and putting them head-to-head on one of the fastest tracks in the country,” stated Haney, who also participated in the Elite 16 with “Notorious,” his nitrous-boosted 2014 Camaro Pro Mod.
Run before a limited-admission crowd of just 1,000 spectators, the $50K-to-win Elite 16 attracted 30 Pro Modified entries attempting to qualify for the 16-car field. After a practically unprecedented eight rounds of qualifying were in the books, MWPMS regular Brandon Pesz sat atop the Elite list with a 3.61-seconds pass at 208.75 mph over the Motorplex eighth mile, closely followed by Jonas Aleshire, Jason Hamstra, and eventual Elite 16 victor Randy Merick. A special second-chance race for Elite 16 non-qualifiers also paid out $10,000 to winner Ron Muenks.
Haney Bringing New Approach to NHRA Pro Mod at St. Louis
TULSA, OK – A bold, red-white-and-blue wrap prominently displays Keith Haney’s unique “You Know My Name” 
catch phrase on the doors of his nitrous-boosted Summit Racing Equipment Pro Mod Camaro and the Tulsa-based new car dealer recognizes his confident, outgoing personality and willingness to verbally mix it up may sometimes rub a few competitors the wrong way.
After making his debut in the NHRA E3 Spark Plugs Pro Mod Series as a teammate to three-time series champion and eventual race winner Rickie Smith this May in Topeka, Ks., Haney says he’s adopting a different approach Sep. 21-23, for the AAA Insurance NHRA Midwest Nationals at Gateway Motorsports Park.
“I hope to go out and take care of business like I have in every other series I’ve raced in,” he says. “Everywhere else I’ve talked smack and done okay, but in Topeka I didn’t quite back it up so I’ve got a different outlook going into St. Louis. (Gateway general manager) Chris Blair and his staff do a great job and I love that track and usually do pretty good there, too, so that’s what I’m going to focus on.”
Haney Unfazed by Setbacks at St. Louis MWPMS Event
TULSA, OK – The trouble started not long after Keith Haney’s team hauler headed out of Tulsa bound for St. Louis 
and the Frankenstein Engine Dynamics Mid-West Pro Mod Series (MWPMS) event at Gateway Motorsports Park. Rolling northeast on I-44, approaching the halfway point of their 400-mile trip, a tire suddenly let go on the trailer, forcing an emergency stop at the next available exit in tiny Mount Vernon, Missouri.
“We got so damn lucky, we get off the exit and boom, there’s a tire place right there,” recalled Haney, a veteran MWPMS racer, as well as owner and promoter of the series. “It would have taken us probably two or three hours to change that tire ourselves, but we go in, they tell us where to park, jack it up, change the tire, and in less than 30 minutes we’re back in business.
“So I ask, ‘How much do I owe you?’ and they answer with, ‘Nothing, you owe us nothing.’ It turns out the guys there follow me on Facebook and the manager’s friend races at Tulsa Raceway Park, the track I own with Todd Martin, so I’m just stunned,” Haney admitted. “It ended up we paid them with swag. We gave everyone in the place Keith Haney Racing hats. So, Southwest Fleet Service in Mount Vernon, thank you! And anyone ever in the area needing tire service, I can’t recommend them enough; they did a great job, too.”
Keith Haney Racing Reveals Race Car Sale Prior to St. Louis MWPMS Event
TULSA, OK – As the owner or co-owner of nine new car dealerships, Keith Haney knows a thing or two about selling 
cars. Few mean as much to him personally, though, as the pair he’s just put on the sales floor—“Notorious” and “Enigma”—his dual championship-winning Pro Modified and Radial vs. the World entries.
The pair of nearly identical appearing, nitrous-boosted 2014 Camaros are both race winners and both carried Haney to season titles last year in the Frankenstein Engine Dynamics Mid-West Pro Mod Series (MWPMS). But the Tulsa-based businessman said it’s time to pass them on to a new owner.
“First of all, I want to make it perfectly clear that this decision to sell is only about the cars. I’m not getting out of racing and even more specifically I’m not leaving the Mid-West Pro Mod Series. I am not getting away from the Mid-West Pro Mod Series in any way, shape or form. I’m not leaving the series; I haven’t sold the series; so we can crush any rumors about me selling it. I have not,” stressed Haney, who also owns and promotes the all-eighth-mile drag racing organization with eight sanctioned events this year, plus a special, winner-take-all, $50,000 race Nov. 1-3, at the Texas Motorplex, near Dallas.
Haney ‘Humbled and Blown Away’ by First NHRA Pro Mod Experience
TULSA, OK – At least they know his name. Despite recording a DNQ this past weekend in his NHRA E3 Spark Plugs 
Pro Mod Series debut, veteran drag racer Keith Haney left Heartland Motorsports Park in Topeka, KS, having made his presence known and feeling thoroughly encouraged by the experience.
The Menards NHRA Heartland Nationals presented by Minties opened for Haney with a ceremonial reveal of his new Summit Racing Equipment 2016 Camaro owned and prepared by three-time NHRA Pro Mod World Champion Rickie Smith. Fans and media alike were wowed by the aggressive red-white-and-blue scheme that screamed Keith Haney Racing and prominently displayed his unique “You Know My Name” catch phrase on the car’s doors.
“Chris Davis and his guys at Kryptonite Kustomz did a great job on the wrap and gave me and Summit a look like no other in all of NHRA,” Haney stated. “It’s loud and in your face, just like I am sometimes, and I think it kind of stole the show, at least during qualifying.
Kryptonite Kustomz Wraps Up New Look for Haney and Summit
BROKEN ARROW, OK — With three-time NHRA Pro Mod World Champion Rickie Smith pacing in the background 
like an expectant father, Chris Davis and his crew at Kryptonite Kustomz got to work early this week. Kryptonite Kustomz, a full-service, custom vinyl wrap company based in Broken Arrow, OK, was applying a unique Summit Racing Equipment look to Smith’s 2015 Camaro race car in anticipation of Tulsa businessman Keith Haney making his NHRA Pro Mod driving debut in it this weekend (May 18-20), during the Menards NHRA Heartland Nationals presented by Minties at Heartland Motorsports Park in Topeka, KS.
“Everybody knows, I think, that Rickie Smith is pretty particular about his equipment and doesn’t let just anyone work on it, so when he first got here he got out of his rig and came in to check us out first,” said Davis, founder and owner of Kryptonite Kustomz. “I’m pretty proud of what we’ve put together here, so I was happy to show him around and after just a couple of minutes Rickie said, ‘Yeah, this’ll do,’ and we were ready to get started.”
Davis emphasized his climate-controlled, 7,500-square-foot facility is built as a one-stop shop, dedicated to making the application of a custom wrap an easy and efficient process for its clients. In addition to the massive, wide-open shop that houses the latest in vinyl wrap technology, at least two tractor trailer-sized race rigs can easily be parked inside, with 50-amp electrical service drops, monitored video security, and comfortable lounge areas for waiting crew members.
