JOHNNY PLUCHINO DEFENDS NHRA READING NATIONALS TITLE
READING, PA – Reigning world champion Johnny Pluchino and his Ross Environmental Services Ford team earned their first Johnson’s
Horsepowered Garage Mountain Motor Pro Stock victory of the season Sunday at the 40th annual NHRA Reading Nationals at Maple Grove Raceway.
In his final round against No. 1 qualifier Brad Waddle, Pluchino ran a clean 6.331-second pass at 221.89 mph for the fourth victory of his career, second consecutive at Maple Grove Raceway. Waddle’s Innovators West Inc. Ford ran into trouble coasting to an 18.321 pass at only 44.76.
“I flubbed up two races this year, and I let my team down, which kills me, so to come out here and get the job done means a lot. I never want to let those guys down,” Pluchino said. “Finally got Ross Environmental a trophy. My family is here again and we backed up our win from last year. It’s little Brady’s birthday in a couple days, I love you, buddy. I’m just happy.” Continue reading
Johnny Pluchino Unveils Special ‘Mobile Incinerator’ Tribute Livery on Mountain Motor Pro Stock Mustang
NORWALK, OH – Reigning Johnson’s Horsepowered Garage NHRA Mountain Motor Pro Stock world champion Johnny Pluchino turned
heads Friday morning at Summit Motorsports Park with the unveiling of a tribute livery on his Ross Environmental Services ’13 Ford Mustang. Unveiled before qualifying began at the Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Nationals, the special-edition wrap honors the Ross Environmental Services “Mobile Incinerator” ’73 Mustang driven by Bill Cromling II in the 1980s. Pluchino enters Norwalk, the home race for the Cromling family and Ross Environmental Services, leading the points in Mountain Motor Pro Stock competition.
Headquartered in Elyria, Ohio, Ross Environmental Services Inc. has been a pioneer in hazardous and industrial waste management since 1949. Using state-of-the-art technologies and superior customer service, Ross protects the environment and provides a full spectrum of professional environmental services.
Pluchino first partnered with Ross Environmental Services late in 2024 as he was wrapping up his world championship season. Ross expanded its support to become Pluchino Racing’s primary sponsor for the 2025 season. That’s when Pluchino and Ross President Bill Cromling III discussed the potential for a tribute livery for the Norwalk event. Driving the “Mobile Incinerator” ’73 Mustang, Bill Cromling II won track championships at Norwalk in the ‘80s and early ‘90s. The car is still in the family’s possession and provided design inspiration for Pluchino’s modern version, which was wrapped by Victory Vinyl. Continue reading
Johnny Pluchino Unveils New Ross Environmental Look for 2025 Season
LONG ISLAND, NY – With the 2025 NHRA Mountain Motor Pro Stock season fast approaching, Johnny Pluchino is trading out his familiar
orange paint job for a brand-new look representing Ross Environmental Services, which will serve as Pluchino’s primary sponsor for the entire 2025 season. Pluchino has campaigned an orange car for almost a decade, first in PDRA Pro 632 before moving up to his father’s Mountain Motor Pro Stock car in 2020.
“Changing over from our tried-and-true orange to flying the Ross colors is extremely exciting,” Pluchino said. “I think the new scheme really pops and uses their trademark colors. We’re really excited to get a new look out there and to start flying their scheme.” Continue reading

LONG ISLAND, NY – Reigning Johnson’s Horsepowered Garage NHRA Mountain Motor Pro Stock world champion Johnny Pluchino will
roll into the third annual Mountain Motor Pro Stock Invitational (MMPSI) at Bradenton Motorsports Park with Ross Environmental Services on the side of his Ford Mustang. “I’m extremely excited to bring the Ross Environmental Services group back out with us as we chase the $25K,” said Pluchino, a two-time PDRA Extreme Pro Stock world champion. “After launching our partnership and winning the NHRA championship in Vegas, I got a chance to head down to their facilities in Ohio to check out their operation and I was extremely impressed. It’s a third-generation family deal, so it’s close to home with our team. It’s just an impressive company that’s been around for over 75 years and I’m honored to be able to carry their name.”
Pluchino enters the MMPSI with momentum from the last running of the event, as well as from the end of the season. Feather-Lite Batteries Steps Up as Primary Sponsor for Johnny Pluchino
BUDDS CREEK, MD – Two-time and reigning PDRA Extreme Pro Stock world champion Johnny Pluchino will race with Feather-Lite
Batteries as his primary sponsor for the rest of the 2023 season. The expanded partnership begins this weekend at the PDRA North vs. South Shootout, June 15-17, at Maryland International Raceway. Kelling Equipment Repair will also continue its support of Pluchino as an associate sponsor.
Feather-Lite has been a longtime supporter of the Pluchino Racing team, and the company’s lightweight batteries have been used to power the electronics in Pluchino’s Kaase-powered 2013 Ford Mustang for several seasons.
“We’ve been working with Feather-Lite for years,” Pluchino said. “They build the lightest, strongest, most durable battery in my opinion. We only rely on them. As a racer, a reliable electronic component is second to none because once you’ve lost an important round of racing one time with a battery or some sort of electronic component failing, you want the best. We didn’t win five championships having mishaps like that. You just can’t afford them.”
Johnny Pluchino Prepared for 2023 NHRA Mountain Motor Pro Stock Debut at Chicago
COMMACK, NY – With the NHRA Mountain Motor Pro Stock class set to make its first appearance of the 2023 season this weekend, Johnny

“It’s always very exciting to head out to the quarter-mile stripe to go over 220 mph side-by-side with some of the greatest competitors,” Pluchino said. “Quarter-mile just brings a different experience. Nothing’s better than watching a Mountain Motor car go run quarter-mile.”
During last year’s NHRA Mountain Motor Pro Stock season, Pluchino raced to victory at the prestigious Dodge Power Brokers U.S. Nationals near Indianapolis. Later in the year, he clinched his second PDRA Extreme Pro Stock world championship and fourth overall in the series.
This year, Pluchino qualified No. 1 at the most recent stop on the PDRA Extreme Pro Stock tour, boosting the New Yorker’s confidence going into his first NHRA Mountain Motor Pro Stock race of the season.

Johnny Pluchino Adds Second PDRA Extreme Pro Stock Victory, Looks Ahead to NHRA Indy
OAKDALE, NY – Johnny Pluchino’s quest for his first PDRA Extreme Pro Stock world championship received a major boost on July 25
when the second-generation driver scored his second event victory of the season at the PDRA Mid-Atlantic Showdown at Virginia Motorsports Park.
The win gives Pluchino extra confidence as he prepares for his first quarter-mile NHRA Mountain Motor Pro Stock race of 2020 at the NHRA Indy Nationals, Aug. 6-9.
“This is just another brick in the road to the championship,” said Pluchino, a two-time PDRA Pro Outlaw 632 world champion. “It’s one race at a time. You keep stacking trophies, you’ll get a big one at the end of the year. That’s the goal.”
After bowing out in the semifinals at the PDRA Carolina Showdown in June, Pluchino started looking for ways to step up his performance at Virginia. He found what he needed during a prerace test session in his Kaase-powered Strutmasters.com ’13 Mustang.
