1,000TH FUNNY CAR RACE COMING TO LUCAS OIL NHRA WINTERNATIONALS IN POMONA
POMONA, CA – In-N-Out Burger Pomona Dragstrip will again make history this spring during NHRA’s milestone 75th season, as the Lucas 
Oil NHRA Winternationals will play host to the 1,000th Funny Car race in NHRA history on April 9-12 on the hallowed grounds at Pomona.
Funny Car made its first-ever appearance at the 1966 World Finals in Tulsa, with Eddie Schartman picking up the victory. NHRA’s milestone year in 2026 will begin with the 998th Funny Car race at the season-opening Amalie Motor Oil NHRA Gatornationals in Gainesville, with the historic moment coming two races later in Pomona.
The 12,000-horsepower, 340-mph Funny Cars have made history for 60 years, but only one driver will lay claim to being the winner of the 1,000th Funny Car race in NHRA history. Last year, Shawn Langdon took the honors at the 1,000th Top Fuel race, while a host of standouts will have their shot in Pomona to etch their own place in history. Continue reading
NHRA TO HONOR VETERANS DURING 60TH ANNUAL IN-N-OUT BURGER NHRA FINALS IN POMONA
POMONA, CA – NHRA announced special plans to honor veterans during its annual Veterans Day celebration at the 60th annual In-N-Out 
Burger NHRA Finals at famed In-N-Out Burger Pomona Dragstrip on Nov. 13-16.
As part of a weekend-long celebration of veterans at the 2025 season finale, fans will receive a limited edition NHRA Challenge Coin from GOVX at the race in Pomona that salutes veterans and highlights NHRA’s longtime support of the armed forces.
Track and event sponsor In-N-Out Burger will offer all veterans and active military members a free combo meal on Friday during the race. Active duty military and veterans can pick up their free meal by showing their military ID on Friday at any of the In-N-Out food trucks at the famed facility.
It’s one of several ways veterans and military members will be celebrated throughout the championship weekend at the legendary In-N-Out Burger Pomona Dragstrip. A one-off Veteran’s Day event t-shirt will also be available for purchase at the NHRA Nitro Mall in Pomona, with proceeds going to Veterans Ticket Foundation, a veterans support organization that purchases tickets for active military, veterans and their families.
Veterans attending the race can utilize a special red-carpet box office window on Friday at In-N-Out Burger Pomona Dragstrip to purchase tickets, and a special ticket discount through GOVX will be available to veterans. Continue reading
IN-N-OUT BURGER POMONA DRAGSTRIP TO HOST NHRA LUCAS OIL DRAG RACING SERIES EVENT IN 2026 AS PART OF 75TH ANNIVERSARY
Special race will be just the second time in 50-plus years iconic track has played host to LODRS event
POMONA, CA – In celebration of NHRA’s upcoming 75th anniversary in 2026, officials at In-N-Out Burger and NHRA announced the 
scheduling of a special Division 7 Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series event on March 12-15, 2026, at historic In-N-Out Burger Pomona Dragstrip.
The event, which will be the first time that a Lucas Oil Series event has been held at the legendary track since 2002 and just the second time in more than 50 years, will be billed as the Snyder Family’s Salute to NHRA’s standout Sportsman racers.
“The Sportsman racers have been wanting and begging for a divisional race in Pomona for a very long time, so I think I can say – on behalf of all Sportsman competitors – this is a dream come true,” said In-N-Out Burger Owner and President Lynsi Snyder-Ellingson, who also races in the Top Sportsman ranks.
“I have no doubt the 2026 race will have a high entry attendance and fill up quickly. It is an honor to have my family’s name and legacy associated with it, as In-N-Out Burger and cars have always gone together like burgers and fries. Dragstrip. The event will feature drag racing, a car show, bands, burgers, and rides. ZZ TOP, 311, and .48 Special will perform to close out the once-in-a-lifetime celebration.
